Microbial fuel cell(MFC) is a kind of fuel cell technology which using anode electricity production bacteria as catalyst,through Microb ial metabolism to converted the chemical energy from electricity substrate(organic/inorganic)into electrical energy.The technology is a new kind of clean and environmental protection technology which of sewage environment-gain effect and production capacity at the same time.Due to its raw material sources,mild operation condition,efficiency and energy utilization,MFC has become a research hotspot at home and abroad.Based on the MFC system,this paper analyzes three kinds of biomass raw materials,th rough the method of pyrolysis,prepared several biomass carbon as MFC cathode catalyst,combining with the physical and chemical characterization methods,studied the structure and chemical composition of them.On the basis of its electricity production in dissolved oxygen cathode MFC effect,further studied the production of electric properties of the biomass charcoal catalytic cathodic oxygen reduction in dissolved oxygen cathode MFC(Oxygen reduction reaction,ORR),the result shows that the effect is good,the main conclusions are as follows:(1)Identified the preparation method and the optimum temperature of biomass carbon catalyst for MFC.This paper studies the biological carbon catalyst preparation temperature: selected nitrogen rich Sargassum as raw materials in different temperature(400~800?)condition,Sargassum biomass carbon catalyst has been prepared by two-step method(SAC-400,SAC-600,SAC-800),and combined with the physical characterization and chemical characterization and their application ef fect in MFC.The results showed that the ORR performance of biomass carbon catalyst at different temperatures was SAC-600> SAC-800> SAC-400,which indicated that SAC-600 has more excellent ORR catalytic performance,the optimum preparation temperature conditions of sargassum biomass carbon were 600?.(2)Studied the performance and the effect of electricity in the air cathode MFC system of three kinds of biomass carbon cathode catalyst which prepared by three kinds of biomass raw materials.Based on the optimum carbonization temperature,600? was selected as the preparation temperature.the ORR performance of bio-carbon catalyst with different raw materials,Sargassum algae-based carbon(SAC),sea gracilaria-based carbon(SGC)and silage energy grass-based carbon(SCC)and its production characteristic s in microbial fuel cell were investigated.The results show that the maximum power of SAC is 2.61 W / m~3,the internal resistance is 200 ?,the maximum power of XC-72 R is 2.17 W / m~3,the internal resistance is 200 ?,the maximum power of SCC is 1.83 W / m~3,the internal resistance is 400 ?,GCC maximum output power of 1.35 W / m~3,the internal resistance of 200 ?.The maximum power densities of several different biobased catalysts in MFC are: SAC> XC-72R> SCC> GCC.(3)Studied the electricity production performance of dissolved oxygen cathode MFC system which loaded biomass carbon catalyst in cathode.The dissolved oxygen cathode MFC was co nstructed with SAC-600 as the cathode catalyst.Results show that the dissolved oxygen cathode of MFC,which is loaded with biomass carbon,starts fast,and the starting time is: 24 h,the maximum voltage and power density are up to 450 m V and 0.552 W/m~3,which over 58 m V and 0.128W/m~3 than the non-load dissolved oxygen cathode MFC.
