“Large deformation” usually is used to evaluate seismic behavior of structure and damage index in the seismic design.However it is found that many constructions are irreparable and unusable and have to be rebuilt following the quake because of the large deformation,which results in huge waste of resources.In order to overcome this,a steel frame system with self-centering rocking wall strrcrure that is able to reduce the structural residual deformation and reuse without or with little reparation is proposed in this thesis,based on the requirements of structural bearing capacity,lateral stiffness and maximum deformation.Finite element software ABAQUS is used herein to analyze the seismic performance of the structural system and parameter study is also carried out afterwards to evaluate the influence of difference parameters on the structural seismic behavior.The research contents are listed as follow:(1)Structural detail measures is specified by analyzing the selections and the arrangements of structural elements,pre-stressed wires,energy dissipation dampers,frame beams and the self-centering rocking walls.(2)Finite element models of structural system are established using software ABAQUS,which are validated with experimental data.Based on the validated finite element models,studies are carried out to analyze the seismic performance indexes including energy dissipation,self-centering function and structural stiffness,and the structural mechanisms.A simplified mechanical model is proposed then.(3)Finite element models using ABAQUS then are used for parameter studies.28 specimens are split into eight groups for studying the parametric variation of self-centering function of pre-stressed wires and energy dissipation dampers.Another 22 specimens are split into eight groups also to study the parametric variation of frame beam,self-centering rocking wall and rubber blanket.The influence of various parameters on the seismic performance of the structure is summarized,which provides theoretical basis and technical support for practical application.
