This thesis presents performance analysis of double stator linear switched reluctance machine DLSRM with respect to its control especially speed regulation based on DSP TMS320F28335 controller.The first chapter presents brief introduction to previous history and current scope of DLSRM in various technological fields.DLSRM structure has been described in detail.Then its converter circuit design and its working principle have been explained.There are three control methods of DLSRM including current control,position control and voltage PWM control.The end of first chapter presents various simulation techniques used in this thesis.Chapter 2 presents finite element analysis FEA based DLSRM geometrical modeling and its simulation processes have been explained in detail.The FEA based FLUX simulation for speed regulation of DLSRM is new work of this thesis.In the end of 2nd chapter,some FEA static simulation results for further processing by MATLAB/SIMULINK have been presented in detail.These simulations include magnetic flux characteristics and energy curves.Winding currents and magnetic flux details have been given using phase currents vs different mover positions curves.3rd chapter presents DLSRM modeling,speed regulations and its analysis using MATLAB/SIMULINK modules.Different modules from MATLAB/SIMULINK model for DLSRM velocity calculation,mover position and controller etc.have been given.CCC,mover position control and voltage PWM control strategy and their sensing operations have been given in detail.The end of this chapter discusses simulation results and their corresponding characteristics graphs for various loads on DLSRM and different speeds of mover.Fourthly,DSP based TMS 320F28335 controller hardware design and its different control methods and applications on DLSRM have been discussed.Three control strategies of DLSRM using DSP i.e.starting control,operation control and braking control with their dynamic behavior have been given in detail.Next,actual prototype hardware power converter and position sensor with current and voltage detection modules are discussed in detail.Saying in one sentence,this chapter presents control hardware,converter and different sensors operation and detection strategies.Lastly,chapter 5 verifies simulation results given in chapter 3 with experiments performed on real prototype present in our laboratory.The experiments and simulations show that our DLSRM prototype shows lowered speed at higher loads and low operating voltages.Also this machine shows effect of obtaining different speeds on current with constant load.In the end of 5th chapter,comparative analysis of simulation and experimental results are discussed.
