| The masonry retaining wall is the most common type of retaining wall because of the advantages of simple material, simple form and convenient construction. However,in many aspects, the masonry retaining walls constructed in the past have been unable to meet the requirements of actual use,and have to be reinforced. Therefore, based on the research results of predecessors,it is very important to study a more scientific and effective reinforcement technology. The reinforcement measure using collapse prevention net and soil nailings is a new and high technology method, and because of its high value of research and application and huge social and economic benefits, the reinforcement measure has been concerned by the majority of scholars in recent years. As a result, the research for the reinforcement measures using collapse prevention net and soil nailings for existing masonry retaining walls have a great necessity and a very important practical meaning.Based on the experimental conditions, the numerical simulation of existing masonry retaining wall was carried out based on ABAQUS in this paper. The effects of the shape of gravel layer on the stability of the retaining wall was discussed, and the effect of the net material, net thickness and the length of the soil nailings on the reinforcing effect were also discussed.First of all,the tilting test of masonry retaining wall was briefly introduced, including the model size, measurement content, material parameters and loading device. Then according to the experimental conditions, the finite element model of the masonry retaining wall was established based on ABAQUS.In this model, the material constitutive relation was defined, and the contacts were set in several locations after the interaction between the various parts was fully considered. And then the numerical calculation was carried out.The results of numerical simulation were obtained including the load-displacement curves, the contact pressure, the soil stress, the plastic strain distribution. After comparing the simulation results with the experimental results, rationality and accuracy of the numerical simulation method was proved. On this basis, the shape of the gravel layer in the model was changed, and the effect of the gravel layer shape on the stability of the masonry retaining wall was studied. Then, the model with reinfocement measures was established, and the material of the collapse-prevetion net is divided into polyethylene material and fine stone concrete.According to the load-displacement curve, the maximum principal stress of the soil and many other results, the effect of the reinforcement measure on the stability of existing masonry retaining wall was analyzed. The thickness of the net and the length of the soil nailings are important factors to the reinforcement effect, therefore, different parameters of this two factors were studied, and the discussion was focused on the angle of failure, the load-displacement data and the distribution of equivalent plastic strain, then the regularities were obtained, which have certain guidance and reference significance to the actual project. |
