Monitoring system is the basis for air traffic management. It can provide real-time dynamic information of the target for the air traffic management system.Air traffic control tower and other operating units use monitoring information to determine and track the aircraft,to get the location of the airport surface moving targets,to get identifiable information of monitor goals,to catch aircraft flight path and intentions,to know the aircraft interval and airport scene running posture.Monitoring system can improve the ability to protect the safety of air traffic.Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast(ADS-B)system can provide airspace information like aircraft traffic, weather, terrain and other flight data. The pilots can clearly understand the traffic situation of near the airspace and improve situational awareness and the flight safety factor.Compared with conventional radar systems,ADS-B system can provide more real-time and accurate information on aerial surveillance.ICAO proposes the concept of the integration of global airspace to facilitate aviation monitor the connection between countries. This initiative has accelerated the rapid development of ADS-B technology, but also makes a compatible with variety of models ADS-B receiver become an inevitable trend. The compatible mode of 1090 ES and UAT receiver can effectively reduce the number of ground stations to save the building construction costs. It can effectively improve the monitoring efficiency and effectiveness of aerial surveillance. As the airborne equipment,it has small size, high integration and low weight, can effectively reduce the flight space occupied and flight loads. The RF front-end receiver is an important part of the receiver. It directly affects the noise figure, dynamic range, accepted sensitivity and other performance indicators of the receiver, thereby affecting the performance of the whole monitoring system.Dual mode ADS-B signal receiver consists of two parts which are the RF front-end from antenna to the part before A/D sampling and digital signal processing back end from A/D sampling to USB transmitted to the host.RF front-end consists of an antenna, low noise amplifier module, power splitter modules, filter modules, voltage controlled oscillation and phase-locked loop module, mixer module.Digital signal processing back end consists of automatic gain control module,A/D sampling module, demodulation and baseband processing module, the bit synchronization module and USB transmission module. The main work of this paper is on the RF front-end s and AGC module's design and realization.Use ADS simulation software to select and simulate components of each module of RF front-end and complete hardware design.Use ISE and Modelsim software to complete AGC functions and simulation modules. In this paper, the final complete design of each module of RF front-end and AGC module, and have a systematic test of each part. After testing, the PLL output frequency of the oscillator module is 1034 MHz and the mixer output signal is 56 MHz both in line with the design goals.System noise figure meet the design requirements of NF?2.5dB;Under 1090 ES mode and UAT mode receiver sensitivity both meet the design specifications of less than-90dBm;Under 1090 ES mode and UAT mode receiver dynamic range both meet the design specifications of more than 65 dBm.
