Marine scientific research and expand marine exploration methods must be carried out,in order to alleviate resource shortage and to protect national territorial sea sovereignty.It is in this context,the group developed the first set of multi-beam synthetic aperture sonar system in the country,which is a three-dimensional imaging sonar integrating the ability of high resolution and multi-beam sounding.The paper is dedicated in the design of data acquisition and transmission system in multi-beam synthetic aperture sonar.Firstly,the paper analyzes the functional requirements of data acquisition and transmission system to finalize an overall system design scheme as follow: Cyclone V SoC with the characteristics of integrating FPGA and ARM on a single chip is chosen to be the core processor.Afterwards,hardware design scheme including chip selection,circuit composition,circuit design principles and circuit reliability are analyzed and discussed in detail,and schematics and PCB layout are drawn according to that.And the system hardware platform which consists of a core circuit based on Cyclone V SoC processor and a junction circuit between digital circuits and analog circuits are then processed to printed plates and debugged.On the basis of hardware circuit design,an further analysis of software requirements and interface protocol are carried out,hardware logic and software are then respectively programmed based on FPGA and ARM to implement functionalities such as data acquisition,high-speed buffering and transmission of 128-channel synchronous signals,transmitter control,time-varied gain control,temperature monitoring and network communication.Finally,the acquisition and transmission system is tested,and the results indicates that each hardware module is functional and the hardware logic and software realize the expected function.It is shown that the design of the acquisition and transmission system is feasible and has laid a solid foundation for upper-level algorithm application of multi-beam synthetic aperture sonar.
