With the global ocean exploitation continuing to heat up,countries in the world pay more and more attention to the development and control of marine resources.It is not only necessary to vigorously develop the marine industry,but protecting their own country's blue territory.Underwater target detection is closely related to the marine resources.With the rapid development of sonar system,the field of underwater target detection is constantly breaking,which has more intelligent underwater robot carrier,more extensive detection range,and more accurate judgment of target.Therefore,it is of great significance to develop a real-time sidescan sonar system with target interpretation capability.In this paper,the author designs and implements a display and control platform for Seaking DST side scan sonar system.Moreover,the control platform has the potential to be adapted to be installed in an underwater vehicle with the side scan sonar system out of the water section.This display and control platform is a connection among the side scan sonar,VxWorks embedded systems and PC through the serial port and network,through the VxWorks embedded system to control the side scan sonar in real time,and displaying sonar images as well as image processing results through PC.For the underwater target detection method,this paper based on the image processing algorithm,studied the imaging characteristics of the side scan sonar,and according to this feature first image denoising and correlation operator image enhancement,and then through the threshold segmentation,morphological processing And the connectivity area marker to achieve the interpretation of the target.According to the application requirements,the system software is designed and developed according to the workflow of the side-scan sonar and its data protocol.Using the multi-task environment of VxWorks operating system,the master program is established,and the tasks of each function are initiated in the master program.The real-time control of the opposite side of the opening,closing and other working state control and based on the sonar image of the target interpretation.And finally developed on the PC side of the display control software,the software can be based on the side of the sonar working environment or user needs to real-time adjustment of the sonar parameters,and can monitor the interface through the side of the scan sonar and embedded system working status.
