As China entered WTO,trade and cooperation with other countries in the world have become more frequent.The maritime transport industry as an important way of international trade,especially the transportation of bulk goods,is playing an increasingly important role in international trade.Since the advence of container technology,container shipping has taken an larger share of maritime transport because of its portability and efficiency.However,there are too many uncertain factors,and these uncertain factors will change the market demand.The shipping company's tasks will also change with the market.The ship companys are likely to have new tasks after making the original line of container transport.In the face of these new tasks,the ship company must complete all tasks in order to improve customer satisfaction and market share.Therefore,it is an urgent problem for the shipping company to adjust the original sailing plan and to make new sailing plans without using new ships on the basis of completing the original plan.This paper first introduces the research background and significance of the container transportation of the branch line and then discusses the relevant theory.In addition,the article puts forward the real-time scheduling problem of the branch containerships based on the analysis of the present situation.Then,a mixed integer optimization model for real-time scheduling of branch container ships is established.By introducing the concept of a virtual port,a batch of tasks from one port is transformed to a single batch of multiple ports.Finally,a genetic algorithm is designed to solve the model.The case analysises are carried out from two aspects:the single-time real-time scheduling and multiple real-time scheduling.Then,the cost of real-time scheduling is compared with the cost of direct scheduling.Method of real-time scheduling can really save some cost.Then the sensitivity of the single-time real-time scheduling of containerships and multiple real-time dispatching of containerships is analyzed by the change of the number of containers of the initial task.From the analysis,it can be found that the change of the number of containers of initial tasks does have some impact on the model.However,the result is still reasonable.So the model is reasonable.In conclusion,the real-time dispatching method of branch containerships can indeed help shipping companies save transportation costs and provide some auxiliary support to make decisions for shipping companies.
