With the rapid development of Chinese economy,traffic congestion caused by the accelerating urbanization is becoming more and more serious.Thus urban rail transit,which is characterized by safety,punctuality and large volume of transportation,is becoming more and more popular.The energy which is needed to maintain daily operation of urban rail transit is huge,and the corresponding operation cost is high.Therefore,the energy saving problem of urban rail transit has been paid attention for a long time.Nowadays,using the regenerative energy effectively is an important way to save energy for train operation of urban rail transit,and how to improve the utilization rate of regenerative energy is a problem worthy of further study.Aiming to build an optimization model of train operation based on regenerative energy utilization,this paper first proposed the construction rules of train operation condition sequences based on the intervals with different velocity limits,and used these rules to catch all the train operation condition sequences corresponding to the interval.This makes it unnecessary to consider the specific operations of trains in intervals when the model is formulated.Just taking the order of the train operation condition sequence in the corresponding set and the details of train operations in this interval can be obtained.Then this paper put forward a numerical method to rank these train operation condition sequences.The obtained ranking values can make it more easily to produce the better initial feasible solutions in the optimization algorithm,which improves the efficiency of the algorithm.The conclusion is listed as follows:(1)The construction rules and a ranking method of train operation condition sequences based on regenerative energyBased on the intervals with different velocity limits,the construction rules of train operation condition sequences were put forward.Then a method was purposed to calculate the values of ranking indexes based on regenerative energy,and all the train operation condition sequences corresponding to the same interval were ranked using the method.(2)The optimization model of train operation process based on regenerative energy utilizationThis paper proposed a "traction-braking" one-to-many relationship to use regenerative energy.Using this relationship the optimization model of train operation was built based on regenerative energy utilization.And then a nested iterative genetic algorithm based on double population was designed to solve the proposed model.(3)ApplicationThe presented model was simulated and verified using the data from Beijing subway.The results showed that compared with the existing train schedules,the proposed model and algorithm reduced the total energy consumption of train operation and improved the utilization of regenerative energy,which can provide a reference for regenerative energy utilization of urban rail transit system.
