With the increase of vehicle number in recent years,it is ubiquitous that traffic flow distribution is the imbalance on both freeway and side roads.Therefore,experts attempt to study more methods from the whole aspect and find some reasonable approaches to control the freeway and maximize the road efficiency.The current control methods for the main and side roads system of city expressway target that roads are controlled by main and side roads separately.Unfortunately,many of those controlled approaches are largely depended on models,so they have the wide gap with the main and side roads systems in some aspects such as strong nonlinear,time-varying,periodic in the freeway and side roads system simultaneous.Hence,this thesis is going to describe and deeply analyze the balance control of freeway and side roads system based on the theory of MFAILC.Here are some details about the conclusion of this thesis.First,this thesis models the freeway by using macroscopic traffic flow model,which is proposed by Papageogiou.And the store-and-forward model is simplified as the model of the side roads.In the end,the systematic model of the freeway and side roads system which is applied to simulation study is established.Second,this thesis concerns the local equilibrium control and global equilibrium control.Local equilibrium control focuses on studying the methods of taking balances between the freeway and side roads,and global equilibrium control focuses on studying the methods of taking balances between the freeway and side roads,and different sections in the side roads.In the process of study,the density difference between the freeway and the side road is chosen as the control objective,and the MFAILC-based urban freeway and side roads system local equilibrium control is proposed.As for the global equilibrium control,the main control objective is modified as the difference of density between two different sections of side roads and the method named MFALIC-based multi-intersections coordination control can be proposed,where freeway and side roads are controlled by local balance control and side roads are controlled by multi-intersection coordination control.Third,the convergence analysis of local and global equilibrium control of the freeway and side road system based on MFAILC has been done.According to the analysis,it indicates that the convergence of these two methods can be guaranteed by rigorous proof.Thus,the control method will be effective in the real application.Finally,this thesis goes for a valid simulation verification for both two control rmethods through MATLAB and Vissim platforms.And simulation results from different control plans are shown in these two simulation platforms.
