With the continuous rapid development of China’s economy and society,the automobile has gradually gained popularity and become the main mode of transportation of the society.The mass popularization of automobile has created favorable conditions for the rapid development of automobile and related industries in China.However,the resulting conflicts between cars and cars and between people and cars are becoming more and more prominent.It is indicated that the annual traffic accident in China reaches 500,000,resulting in the direct economic loss of tens of billions of yuan.One of the main causes of traffic accidents is the inability of drivers to accurately perceive their surroundings.Based on the visual sensor technology,the rear view system can give the driver visual perception of the area behind the back of the vehicle,but there is still visual blind area.The designed and developed seamless panoramic reversing radar system installs four super-wide-angle cameras on a car.Based on the camera calibration,fisheye image distortion correction,corner extraction and image matching algorithm,it can provide drivers with a birdview of the moving car.It not only provides drivers with a new experience of panoramic driving,but also presentsa 360-degree panoramic image around a car,which can completely eliminate the visual blind area and guarantee safety especially when driving cars on narrow roads,climbing or parking.The hardware of our system is designed based on DM6437,TVP5158,CH376,etc,which can support the functionalites of decoding,real-time image mosaic and data storage of the 4-channel video images.The software of our system is implemented based on Open CV.Based on algorithms of camera calibration,fisheye image distortion correction,angle point extraction and image mosaic,our system is able to generate a real-time birdview of moving cars.Through the system test,our system has a good effect of image mosaic and the clarity of images is better than similar systems,which completely satisfy requiementsof vehicle application and have a broad market application prospect.
