With the progress of the society,the scientific exploration of underwater resources has increased gradually.Therefore the demand of the corresponding technology has been increasing.The underwater positioning technology is one of the important technologies in underwater resources exploration and more and more countries focus on this research content.In addition to the conventional underwater positioning method of sonar,some special cases of demand are contributed to the development of non-acoustic underwater positioning technology.The main task of this paper is to design an underwater positioning system based on rotated electric field which including a set of horizontal positioning system and a set of three-dimensional positioning system.First,this paper introduced the significance and importance of theunderwater positioning technology,and then analyzed the development status of underwater positioning technology both at home and abroad.Secondly,this paper introduced the basic principle and mathematical model of conducting current field in conducting medium.The paper discussed the electric field characteristics of charged sphere and electric dipole antenna in homogeneous medium,and the electric field strength and voltage of any point P are discussed.On the basis of those discuss,the method of generating the rotating current field is put forward,and then,the internal current field of the circular electrode system with 8 electrodes and 16 electrodes is studied.From the study,the phase function and the amplitude function of the signal at arbitrary point P can be obtained.Then the correctness and feasibility of the underwater positioning system model are proved according to the digital correlation method which provides the theoretical support for the following positioning system design.Then,the prototype design of the underwater positioning system based on rotating current field is introduced,including the hardware circuit design,FPGA program design and software design of thecomputer.At the end of this paper,the prototype system is tested and analyzed.The shortcomings of this paper and the prospect of this technology are also described.
