As a new type of spatial tensile stable structures,tensegrity system consists of rigid rod and flexible cable.Because it has advantages of excellent mechanical properties,smaller overall quality,adjustable and foldable.Now it is increasingly aroused the concern of the air space community and are widely used in the developable antenna,the extended arm of the space station and communications satellite.This paper constructed a new type of cylindrical tensegrity structure that can be applied to space stretching arms and surrounding truss.The paper main line is to realize the structure of the folding and unfolding,and analyze the structure of the folding process.Firstly,construct a kind of cylindrical tensegrity structures with better mechanical properties.The connection matrix to expresses the spatial location of the components,the node matrix to determine the shape of the structure.In addition use MATLAB to establish model of cylindrical tensegrity structure,and through the theory instruction made physical model to verify the stability of the structure.Secondly,build the parametric finite element modeling of structure.When structure under axial compression,axial tensile,bending and radial compression,we can through the static analysis obtain the component deformation and structure stiffness,and the component deformation,then puts forward the feasible fold scheme.Through modal analysis can get the inherent frequency,vibration of the structure and the influence of structural parameters to it.As to provide theoretical basis for the choice of the structure parameters.Thirdly,combined with the structure statics analysis,we can do the analysis of fold process to the structure that has possible folding ways,when structure is in the process of compressed and stretching folding,we can get the change trend of cable length to realize the structure of folding and unfolding.At the same time determine the type of motion pair,analysis the dead center of structure and calculating the admission ratio of two folding ways.At last,for the structure that has the large diameter use topology optimization to solve the defects of low radial stiffness and easy to instability.Then summarized and analyzed deformation condition of components to find out the change cable to determine drivers so as to realize the structure of the folding and unfolding.
