Research On Hydrodynamic Performance Of Planning Trimaran Hull In Head Waves

The channel type planing trimaran shows good resistance performance and motion stability at high speed in calm water,this kind of ship with excellent characteristics has attracted extensive research.Research on the characteristics of the channel in regular waves is one of the hot spots the researcher interest in.In order to use the simulation methoed to research the hydrodynamic characteristics of the channel type planing trimaran in the regular waves,the accuracy of the numerical simulation is verified according to the experimental data of the ship model in regular waves.Then verify the accuracy of numerical methods to capture the field details for channel type planing trimaran flow field.After obtaining the desired accuracy that meet the project need,then research channel type planing trimaran behavior variation in calm and regular waves in the same Froude number,the behavior of channel type planing trimaran in regular waves is a slight fluctuation to the hydrostatic behavior in the same Froude number.Explore channel type planing trimaran response under a series regular waves with the same amplitude as well as same Froude number,then explore its response under a series regular waves with the same amplitude but various Froude number,then analysis the channel type planing trimaran's motion characteristics in regular waves.Set up a single planing hul with the same main scale,displacement,gravity center and moment of inertia of channel type planing trimaran.Comparing with the corresponding single planning hull and channel type planing trimaran in regular waves to analysis the mechanism of channel effect to improve seakeeping of channel type planing trimaran in regular waves.The research show that channel has very obvious benefit to improve seakeeping of planing hull.
