Nowadays,more and more modern shipbuilding enterprises adopt assembly line mode for hull block assembly.Assembly line balancing problem becomes the most critical issues during the configuration of an assembly line whose production rate and equipment utilization rate are absolutely restricted by the balancing degree of itself.Furthermore,there are kinds of uncertain factors in fact which can lead an initial balancing scheme to be no longer balanced and cause the productivity of the enterprise reduced.In this paper,we put emphasis on the hull block assembly line static balancing problem and dynamical balancing problem with uncertain order.Firstly,we have taken some research on the hull panel assembly line static balancing problem.The mathematical model for hull block assembly line balancing problem has been established with three optimization objectives: minimizing the number of workstations,maximizing assembly line efficiency and minimizing workload variation.After that,a modified ant colony optimization algorithm has been developed in terms of the problem characteristic and applied to solve lots of benchmark problems to verify the feasibility of the modified algorithm.Secondly,we have analyzed the performance of the assembly line which contains complicated relationship among the workstations.The status of each workstation that is whether starved or blocked can be analyzed while one workstation gets down by using graph theory.And on this basis,we adopt a decomposition method to evaluate the performance of the whole assembly line and calculate the average production rate.Thirdly,we have taken some research on the mixed model assembly line robust rebalancing problem with uncertain orders.An evaluation function for rebalancing cost has been proposed as one of the optimization objectives in terms of the difference between the initial balancing scheme and rebalancing scheme.Besides that,a new function which can evaluate the robustness of the solution under different orders has also been proposed.On the basis of that,we establish the mathematical model and take a further improvement for the modified ant colony optimization algorithm after comprehensive consideration about robust rebalancing problem.At last,we verify the feasibility of the modified algorithm by testing it on different benchmark problems.Finally,we have developed software with respect to the research above on the platform of Visual Basic 6.0.The feasibility of the software has been verified by solving some reality problems.
