The monitoring of maritime traffic is of great significance to the safety of navigation on board ships. The modern monitoring system mainly includes radar monitoring, installation monitoring of ships' AIS,and establishment of VTS.However,it is difficult for maritime traffic supervision to be difficult for the navigation environment to produce interference radars and for ships that are not partially equipped with AIS.Accurate control over the exact location of the ship's navigation leads to the inability to determine whether the ship's navigational environment is safe. Therefore, the introduction of advanced video surveillance is a method to make up for these deficiencies.Based on video surveillance, this article has made detection of ships on the sea and calculated the geospatial location of ships. The main tasks are as follows:Ship target detection refers to the detection technology that extracts the ship targets in the motion-varying region from the video image. This article describes the method of capturing a video image of a sea-going vessel with a fixed camera and detecting the target ship from the video image. This method is a ship target detection algorithm based on the three-frame-difference method based on edge detection and background subtraction based on the median method. This combination method can extract ship targets more effectively, accurately and reliably than a single method.Ship position conversion, first extracting the ship's pixel position in the video image after extracting the ship's target, and then establishing an algorithm for the camera model through computer vision, calculating the camera's internal and external parameters needed for position conversion, and calculating again through the geometric algorithm. The Gaussian plane Cartesian coordinates of the ship's target relative to the camera's position were finally converted using the Gaussian algorithm from the Cartesian coordinates to the geographic latitude and longitude.Through this research on the extraction of ship's position information,it plays a certain role in assisting the monitoring center to monitor the ship.In the case of a ship that is not equipped with AIS and radar under adverse conditions is affected, this method can better compensate for the undetectable display of the ship's position, improve bad navigation conditions, thereby improving the navigation efficiency and ensuring the navigation safety of the ship.
