With the rapid progress of urbanization in recent years,the problem of traffic congestion is becoming more and more serious.With the intelligent trend in the development of traffic management,the demand for timely and accurate traffic information system is getting stronger and stronger.There are several related methods to obtain traffic information such as the traditional detection method based on multi-sensor.However,These methods have several shortcomings,such as high cost,poor adaptation and poor expansibility.In order to overcome the shortcomings in those methods mentioned above,We transform the portable WiFi routers into a probes to collect the WiFi spatio-temporal data of the mobile devices passing by,and design a traffic information system to process the data collected by the probes.The main tasks in this paper are as followings.1.Design and implement a traffic information system based on WiFi data mining.The System consists of a WiFi probe data acquisition module,a road network information acquisition and generation module,a data processing module,a data interface service module and a data visualization page.2.Design and implement the core algorithms of the traffic information system.The core algorithms are the transportation mode recognition algorithm which can help to make the calculation of traffic congestion more accurate,and the traffic congestion forecasting algorithm which is used to predict traffic conditions.3.Introduce the details of the deployment of the system and visualize the output data and analyze the system output.The system we designed in this research can satisfy the requirements of obtaining the traffic congestion information when the WiFi spatio-temporal data partly lost,and the output of the system are coincided with the actual situation.Besides,we also analysis the traffic congestion in the area where we deploy the system.
