The development of railway not only brings great convenience to people's travel,but also plays a decisive role in the national economy.However,it is inevitably led to frequent disasters as a means of transportation.Therefore,railway rescue workers should quickly carry out the rescue,eliminate line obstacles and short the interruption time.In order to improve the rescue efficiency of rescuers,on-site rescue training is usually required.Although the rescue efficiency of rescuers can be improved,however,due to concerns associated with the huge manpower,material resources and possible high-risk accidents,it is not a very practical way to carry out rescue training in the field.The virtual reality simulation training system can provide railway rescue workers with a safe,efficient and low-cost training environment.This paper presents a VR-based railway crane accident rescue training system.The virtual reality interactive equipment and the threedimensional physics engine are applied to build a framework for the development of the training system.To provide users with virtual accident scenes,we set up a real railway accident scenario,carry out accident simulation and set up a dynamic model of the railway crane.The hand gesture tracking technology is used to realize the interaction between the user and the virtual scenario.It can also effectively simulate the cooperative operation between the crane operator and the signaler in the lifting operation.In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed training system,we compared it with a hand-held controller training system,and invited 10 participants to carry out the user experience.We evaluated the availability and ease of use of the two training systems.The results show that it is feasible to use the virtual reality technology for the rescue training of railway accident.Compared with the hand-held controller training system,the participants can use the proposed system to complete the task more quickly and with fewer errors.These results are also consistent with the feedback of the user experience.
