In order to improve the rotation speed stability of a hydro-viscous clutch in mixed lubrication, analyze the temperature field and the thermal character, and predict torque based on the temperature field of the friction pair, combing method of numerical simulation and experimental study overall. In order to analyze of temperature field of friction pair in mixed lubrication, distribution of heat flux of friction pair according to relevant material properties and the heat transfer coefficient according to related properties of lubricating oil are determined based on friction pair heat source model.Heat load characteristics is analyzed under conditions of fixed load and fixed rotational speed based on thermoelasticity. The maximum stress point is found in stress field analysis. And the total deformation, axial expansion deformation and radial warping deformation are analyzed in the thermal deformation. It is shown that axial expansion deformation is the main in all kinds of deformations, which can reduce friction area between friction pair and has a bad impact on torque.Torque-pressure model is established through the relation among temperature field of friction pair, specific pressure and friction coefficient. And a model that can calculate and predict torque is raised. The model is verified to be reasonable and reliable by comparing the theoretical calculation value and experimental data of torque under different rotational speed. The temperature field of steel disk is improved to be reasonable through the experiment of temperature field validation experiment. And the model of torque through the experiment of torque validation experiment, indicating that it is suitable for any size of friction pair for predicting and controlling the torque precisely.
