In this paper,the braking energy recovery system has been designed according to the driving characteristics of electric vehicles,and this system is to recover braking energy when vehicle is in braking or sliding condition in order to reduce electricity consumption and extend vehicle driving range.Brake energy recovery system developed in this paper takes the driver's feeling for braking pedal into account while ensuring the performance of braking energy recovery.This article defines recovery rate,conditions and control architecture of braking energy recovery system for electric vehicle,and analyses the matching principle and working process with vehicle braking system,also the influence factors of braking energy recovery effect have been studied.The coordinated control of braking energy recovery system and ABS anti-lock control system has been researched to enhance electric braking force maximumly under safe braking circumstances.Based on AVL-Cruise simulation and modeling platform,vehicle modeling and simulation system has been established to simulate recovery rate of braking force under different braking energy recovery control strategies in order to optimize the control strategy.The driving range tests under NEDC and ECE conditions have been conducted on chassis dynamometer via real vehicle and recovery rate of vehichle braking force has been verified to compare with simulation results.The test result shows that the extension rates of driving range for NEDC condition and ECE condition are xx% and xx% respectively.In summary,the driving range of the vehicle has been significantly improved.
