| As an analytical instrument,mass spectrometer is widely applicated in biology,chemistry,environment,medical inspection and many other fields.In the meanwhile,in some conditions the miniature mass spectrometer has even more important applications,so that experts and scholars both at home and abroad pay great attention to the research of improving the analysis performance of the miniature mass spectrometer.Nowadays,most kinds of mass spectrometers use ion trap,which has low cost,simple structure and the capability to run a multi-stage MS experiment,as their mass analyzer.But there is also some shortage in traditonal miniature ion trap mass spectrometers,such as it has a bad resolution when working under the low mass range,it has a complex preparation for the samples and so on.To solve these problems,we develop a new kind of miniature mass spectrometer using the digital ion trap as the mass analyzer,and it can have a better performance in resolution.And aslo we choose a new kind of ionization mode called glow discharge electronic ionization to have a fast ionization on gaseous phase samples,that will be a good way to simplify the process of sample preparation.In this article,we detailly introduced the structure of our homemade miniature digital ion trap mass spectrometer,and the test results of our new instrument was given.We initially identified that our new mass spectrometer with digital waveform has a better resolution especially in the low mass range. |
