Reliability analysis of rock mass under earthquake is a comprehensive issue involving earthquake engineering, structural seismic, geological engineering, structural dynamics, rock mass mechanical, and many other subject.Based on single degree of freedom, generalized single-degree-of-freedom and multi-degree-of-freedom coupled Newmark sliding models, the seismic stability reliability analysis for different types of engineering buildings is investigated, and an efficient reliability analysis method is proposed. The input random process is represented a discrete form,When the initial sliding of the system is considered, the theoretical solution of reliability index can be obtained by FORM.If sliding more than a certain amount of relative displacement is looked as the failure criterion of the system, the reliability can be solved by Monte Carlo method.Write MATLAB procedures, combined with engineering example demonstrates the validity and accuracy of the method. After a reliability study of the three different models,it comes to a same general regularity: the design point excitation resulting in the initial relative sliding of the system is a harmonic wave with increasing amplitude, and its frequency is equal to the one of the system. There are linear relations between coefficient of friction and the reliability index, and nonlinear relations between probability values of failure for sliding more than a certain displacement and coefficients of friction of the system, and the optimal coefficient of friction which makes the minimum probability of failure can be found. The mechanical analysis and reliability analysis of coupled sliding system are also investigated when the sliding surface is inclined, the regular understanding of reliability and other results of both cases are compared.Graphical user interface procedures are developed to provide convenience for users and extend practical application of the simplified model andcomputing method of reliability.
