To solve the problem of the main cable corrosion of the suspension bridge,The CFRP bars with good antiseptic performance are used to replace part of the main cable's high strength steel wires to be the main cable form of the STEEl-CFRP composite section(hereinafter called as the composite section).Besides,a sophisticated calculation model is established to study the mechanical behavior of the main cable of the composite section.The main contents include:1.The form of the main cable based on the antiseptic performance of the main cable is designed according to the corrosion law of main cable.The corrosion experiment of neutral salt spray(NSS)is carried out on the main cable of the composite section and the main cable of the full steels section,the antiseptic effect of the main cable of the composite section is tested by comparing with the antiseptic effect of the main cable of the full steels section.2.Based on the contact-friction theory,the sophisticated calculation model of the main cable is established to accurately simulate the contact-friction relationship between the wires in the main cable.3.Based on the sophisticated calculation model of the main cable of the composite section,the mechanical behavior of the composite section main cable when it is affected by the axial force and the hanger force and the coupling effect of the two are analyzed.4.The main force factors affecting the main cable of the composite section are: CFRP's elastic modulus,radial force and friction coefficient.The influence of the three factors on the stress of the main cable of the composite section is studied respectively.The main conclusions of the paper are as follows:The main cable of composite section of high strength steel wires wrapped with CFRP bars has good antiseptic performance.Under the influence of axial tension(entangling force,cable clamp force)and radial load,the wires are uneven loading in the main cable,the axial tension of outer CFRP bar is less than the internal steel wire.otherwise,the axial tension of the main cable is small influence of the sling force.When it is affected by sling force,axial and radial loads,the force of the main cable of composite section is similar to that of the axial load only.With the increases of the modulus of CFRP,the axial tension of the cable increases significantly.With the increases of the radial load,the axial tension of the CFRP bars decreases and the axial tension of the steel wires increases.as well as the frictions between the CFRP bars increases,the friction between the CFRP bar and the steel wire increases,the axial tension of CFRP bars decreases while the axial tension of steel wires increases.The research results in this paper are of positive significance for the corrosion prevention of main cables and the fine mechanical behavior analysis of main cables.
