As technologies evolve generally,UAV became possible and stood out in the public vision.As a result,UAV ground command and control system(CCS)was created and received attentions widely.A good design of CCS not only improves the flight performance of UAV but also brings better flight experience to pilots.This paper elaborates the design of command and control system software which is the core component of the CCS,and studies a trending technique called " One CCS for multi-UAV ".Based on the hardware layout of CCS,the command and control system software is composed of mission planning and situational analysis software,HUD software,command and control software and monitor software.The four independent application modules cooperate with each other to achieve the functional requirements of the system.After the preliminary design of the deployment and the function of the four software,this paper focuses on the detail of the design of the mission planning and situational analysis software and the HUD software,including the design decision,the architecture,the system components and the execution plan.Using UAV nose camera's video as background,HUD software displays information such as graphical flight parameters,manual operations and so on,so as to provide an intuitive simulation of flying a UAV for pilots.The software is developed using MFC framework in Visual C++ integrated development environment on Windows XP operating system.The mission planning and situational analysis software is developed based on ArcGIS 9.3 GIS.It features digital map loading,mission planning,situational analysis and tracking with the benefits from the integration of ArcObjects components to process two-dimensional digital map and to overlay,edit and store user layer.The software is developed in Visual C++ integrated development environment on Windows XP operating system with the ArcGIS platform for digital map.The development and testing of the the command and control system software discussed in this paper was completed.It has been deployed and used in daily work.The expectation of the software is reached since it completes all the requirements needed very well.In the meantime,the extensibility of the design of this software makes it easy to be used as a reference for further research in the future.At the end of this paper,the prospect of the future development of ground command and control system software is discussed,including cooperative work,artificial intelligence,and the optimization of human–computer interaction.
