The paper summarized the collection and extraction methods of the fish epidermalmucus at home and abroad, compared the advantages and disadvantages of the currentmethods of antibacterial effect, analyzed the research progress of the fish epidermalmucus inhibitory effects at home and abroad and summarized some inhibitory effect onfish epidermal mucus. Thus to provide some Materials and methods for the study of fishsurface mucus. The research object of this paper is Trachidermus fasciatus, using a solventcollection method to collect its epidermal mucus, and then using the water, alcoholsand acids to extract its epidermal mucus respectively. And in order to test the bacterialeffect of the epidermal mucus extracts to the fisheries pathogen of Citrobacterfreundii?Aeromonas hydrophila?Aeromonas Vickers?Staphylococcus epidermidis?Staphylococcus saprophyticus and Staphylococcus Wolfowitz by the method of K-Bmethod.The results showed that the epidermal mucus of Trachidermus fasciatus'acidextracts has a significant inhibitory effect to the six aquatic pathogens above. In order to explore whether the fish epidermal mucus has antibacterial effects, respectively, take the two types of Eel and loach fish without scales and two types ofcrucian carp and koi fish with scales as the test material, using different extractionmethods to explore inhibitory effect to the pathogens of Citrobacter freundii?Aeromonas hydrophila?Aeromonas Vickers?Serratia marcescens?Staphylococcussaprophyticus and Staphylococcus Wolfowitz by K-B method and trace dilution methodand exploring the antibacterial activity of different concentrations of extract on thegrowth of pathogenic bacteria by a micro plate reader. The results showed that theepidermal mucus of eel and loach acid extracts and water extracts of koi and carp had asignificant inhibitory effect to Aeromonas Vickers and the minimum inhibitoryconcentration32?g/mL,26?g/mL,76?g/mL and88?g/mL. And different concentrations of mucus extract large differences affect bacterial growth. In order to make a further explore to the characteristics of antimicrobial proteins ofthe fish epidermal mucus, choosing the Trachidermus fasciatus, koi carp and cruciancarp as the test material, to test the protein expression of its spectrum of the antibacterialproteins by SDS-PAGE.The results showed that the acid and aqueousextracts'antibacterial proteins of the epidermal mucus of Trachidermus fasciatus arequite different, the aqueous extract of koi and carp epidermal mucus had a commonsize of five antimicrobial proteins. The results showed that the acid extracts of epidermal mucus of Trachidermusfasciatus?eel and loach and the aqueous extract of koi carp and crucian carp wereshowed some inhibitory effect. Confirmed the predecessors of "general fish withoutscales surface mucus has a better bacteriostatic effect than fish have scales”.Obtaineda deduction of that the acid extracts of the epidermal mucus of the fish without scalesplay a major role in antibacterial, and the scaly fish is the aqueous extracts of theepidermal mucus. Thus to provide relevant informations for the research of epidermalmucus of fish and the development of antimicrobial drugs.
