Camphor, one of the highest economic value species, is widely distributed among the camphor group. Linalool, very scarce in the international market, is rich in the essential oil of camphor and linalool is also a raw fragrance material which is the most frequently used in large amount in world incense on the industrial raw materials. At moment, the majority of linalool used in the production is synthetic, while natural linalool has the characteristic of optical activity, especially in medicine the biological potency of the L-body is more excellent than that of the synthetic linalool, and the smell of natural linalool is pure, round, sweet and elegant, which is difficult to be compared with the synthetic linalool. But at this stage, some camphor raw material forest does not solve the problem of breeding, and the essential oil derived contains many impurities and is hard to separate. Therefore, this study selects camphor with different clones as research materials from Nanping testing ground and Yong'an testing ground and finally filters camphor clones which is suitable for development and utilization in industrialization by testing the external growth traits of the clones like tree height and diameter at breast height and internal impact indicators of the growth rate like water content and chlorophyll content, and by evaluating the selection indicators with the method of applications level-set pair analysis. The research results are as follows:1. Tree height and diameter at breast height of camphor with different clones in different places change greatly. There is no significant difference of the tree height of camphor clones in Nanping and Yong'an testing grounds in the year of 2008 and 2009, while in the other years, there is. There is significant difference of the diameter at breast height of camphor clones in different years. The relatively higher average growth rate of the tree height of different clones of different camphor in different places is the Variation 2, WP1, PC2, while the growth rate of the diameter at breast height is Variation 2,195, MD1?2. The change of leaf biomass different clones of camphor in different places is large. The highest leaf biomass in Nanping testing ground is Variation 2, while in Yong'an testing ground are the 195,114 and Variation 2. There exist differences of the leaf biomass between north and south in Nanping and Yong'an testing ground. The south is higher than the north, which indicates that light intensity influence the leaf biomass greatly.3. There is higher stability of the oil essence between the female parent and the offspring of different camphor clones in different places. Except for 195 and MD1, there is stable hereditary character of the linalool content of other clones in Nanping testing ground, while only the 187 and WP1 are genetically instable and the rest are stable in Yong'an testing ground. The camphor content of all clones are genetically stable in Nanping testing ground, while in Yong'an testing ground, only the 195 and WP1 are not genetically stable.4. The changes of the water content and chlorophyll content of different camphor clones in different places are small. There is no significant change of the water content of different camphor clones in Nanping and Yong'an testing ground. The overall change trend of the water content is down first and then rising, which presents a "V" curve. The difference of the chlorophyll content of these two testing ground is small too, whose trend is rising first and then down, indicating a inverted "V" type.5. Selection results of applications level-set pair analysis show that the champion tree inNanping testing ground is WP1 and the six growth traits in Clone WP1 like chlorophyll content, water content, oil amount and growth rate, content of linalool and camphor content are all outstanding. While under the condition of Yong'an environment, there are WP1 and 187 with good growth characteristic between the camphor clones. In all, there is excellent performance of growth traits of WP1 in different places, and it's suitable for application to the development and utilization in camphor raw material industry.
