Tetranychus truncatus Ehara is a kind of phytophagous pest mite, which harms fruit trees, corn and vegetables, etc. It seriously harms the development of jujube industry in Xinjiang. We studied the population dynamics of Tetranychus truncatus on different host plants, transformation rules, selectivity on different host plants and water stress on the dynamics in the cross-sectional shape spider mites. Conclusions are as follows:(1) The main host plants of Zizyphus jujube in the jujube are Convolvus arvensis, Amaranthus retroflexus, Chenopodium glaucum and Solanum nigrum, of which the risk index is on the decrease. The results show that Convolvus arvensis is the most suitable host for Tetranychus truncatus.Population dynamics and transformation rules of Tetranychus truncatus on different host plant show that this mite appears on Convolvus arvensis and Amaranthus retroflexus on May16 th, and five days later it on Chenopodium glaucum and Hibiscus trionum. The amount of this mite reached peak on Convolvus arvensis between late June and early August. The mite transferred from weed to jujube in late June and the amount of this mite reached peak on the Zizyphus jujube in early August while the amount decreased on the weeds.(2) The selectivity of host plants is different. Show in study, it is three kinds of plant, Convolvus arvensis, Chenopodium glaucum and Amaranthus retroflexus, that the mite likes to eat most and its rate is achieved 84%, 76% and 73%, respectively.(3) Dealing with different amount of water and irrigation intervals, population dynamics of Tetranychus truncatus are different. The water amount, too high or too low, is conducive to the occurrence of Tetranychus truncatus. The appropriate amount of water will help control mites. As a result, water stress is one of the main causes for the outbreak of this mite in Xinjiang.
