The experiment was carried out in Guozhai village,Guoyang county,Anhui Province in June 2015.This paper is focused on resolving this problem that the overcast-rainy and low-light weather impact the yield of maize after tasseling.Fifteen maize material,ZD958,XD20,XY335,WK702,LP206,JH5,ZK11,LY16,ZD909,DH605,ND108,LD818,WY12,JD7 and FL21 were used to investigate the respond of morphological,physiological and yield under 42 days after sowing by 50% black over shading net simulating low-light weather.Screening of the shade-tolerance type of the above species was to provide theoretical basis and technical support of high and stable yield of the summer maize in the south of Huang-Huai-Hai-River region.The main results as followed:1.The seeding stage of ND108 was on June 16 th,while the other 14 species were all on June 15 th.LY16 had the best performance on emergence rate,then followed by FL21,XD20,WY12,LD818,WK702,ZK11,JD7,LP206,DH605,ZD958,JH5,ZD909,XY335,ND108.Both LP206 and DH605 was 92.95%,ZD958 and JH5 were 91.67%.LD818 had the best uniformity,second one was JD7,then followed by LY16,FL21,XY335,WK702,ZK11,WY12,ZD909,DH605,ND108,LP206,XD20,JH5,ZD958.2.Plant height and leaf area were mainly determined by gene.WY12,XD20,LD818,WK702,XY335,JD7,ND108,ZD958,Zhongke909' plant heights became shorter.While LP206,LY16,ZK11,FL21,DH605,JH5's plant heights became taller.WY12' plant heights decreased the maximum by 10.49%,ZD909's decreased the minimum by 1.19%.LP206's plant height increased the maximum by 3.78,and JH5's increased the minimum by 0.53%.The leaf area of ZD958?LY16?ZD909?XD20?FL21?ZK11 reduced under shading.The leaf area of ZD909 reduced the maximum by 47.38%,the leaf of LP206?JH5?WY12?ND108?WK702 increased under shading condition.LP206' leaf area increased the maximum by 18.55%,DH605?XY335?JD7?LD818's were not significant with contrast.3.Effects of shading on summer maize had no significant difference on chlorophyll content of ear leaf.It indicated that short-term shading on summer maize had no effect on chlorophyll content of ear leaf.4.Effects of shading on summer maize had no significant difference on seed rate.It indicated that short-term shading on summer maize had no effect on seed rate.5.Maize male and female interval extended under shading.DH605,JH5,FL21,WY12,XY335,ZK11 extended to least a week under shading condition.ZD958,LP206,ZD909,XD20,ND108,WK702,Jindan7 and LD818 were 6 days.LY16 was 5 days.6.Bacterial wilt incidence rate of WK702 was the highest by 2.00% under shading,XD20 and LD818 second,which rate were 0.64% and 0.65%,other varieties had no been infected;crude dwarf of JH5,ZK11 had occurred,the incidence rate were 0.62% and 0.68%,other varieties had no been infected.7.Stalk strength of LD818,DH605,WK702,WY12,ZD909,JH5,XD20 and ND108 reduced under shading condition,while LD818 and DH605.JD7,LY16,LP206,ZK11,XY335,ZD958 and FL21's increased under shading condition.Puncture strength of ZD958,LP206,XY335,ZD909,DH605,XD20,ZK11,LY16,WY12,FL21 became lower under shading condition,while ND108,JH5,LD818,WK702 and JD7 became higher.All varieties were not lodging under shading.8.Yield,100-kernel weight,spike weight and grains per ear reduced and empty bar increased under shading condition.The yield of DH605 reduced the maximum by 67.81% and JD7's reduced the minimum by 39.35%.The 100-kernel weight of DH605 reduced the maximum by 22.62%,and ZK11's reduced the minimum by 6.83%.The spike weight of LD818 reduced the maximum by 48.68%,and ZD958's reduced the minimum by 14.89%.The grains per ear of LD818 reduced the maximum by 41.3%,and LP206's reduced the minimum by 0.2%.The empty bar of WK702 increased the maximum by 95.92% and ZK11's increased the minimum by 54.14%.9.The yield as the main index,and the spike weight,100-kernel weight,empty bar,the time interval between male and female and the seed rate as secondary evaluation found that ZD958,ZK11,ZD909,XD20,LP206,WK707,LY16,JD7,ND108 for the shade-tolerance type and FL21,LD818,XY335,JH5,WY12,DH605 for the intolerance type by cluster analysis.
