Soluble Sugar And Organic Acid Contents Evalution Of Different Citrus Germplasm Resources

The planting area and production of citrus in China is the most around the world,nowadays,people are focus on the edible qualities.The content of soluble sugars and organic acids is one of the important indicators affecting the flavor of citrus fruits.In order to providing a reference for citrus breeding,in this study,we collected 23 loosen-skin mandarins,22 oranges,42 pummelos and grapefruits,2 lemons,trifoliata,kumquat,Ichang NO.4 orange,5 hybrids,97 citrus germplasms in total,and compared the composition and content of sugars?acids?inositol;compared the feature of composition and content of the same kind citrus in Wuhan and Chongqing;compared the sugar and acid composition characteristics of Newhall navel orange from 11 production areas in two consecutive years;and analysis the partial correlation between soluble sugars,organic acids content and the bitterness compounds of Newhall navel orange mature fruit in 2012.The main results wear as follows:1.Determinated the soluble sugars and organic acids composition and content of juice sacs of ripe fruits by Gas chromatography(GC),results showed that:In loosen-skin mandarins,sucrose accounted for 43.92%—78.87%of total soluble sugars,while citric acid accounted for 68.08%—96.55%of total organic acids;in oranges,sucrose took up 37.22%—65.20%of total soluble sugars,citric acid took up 69.66%—92.56%of total organic acids;in pummelos and grapefruits,sucrose accounted for 58.65%—74.71%of total soluble sugars,the proportion of citric acid to total acid is 58.58%—97.40%.Lemon is rich in citric acid,and the content of sucrose is lower than the content of glucose or fructose.In all varieties,the content of glucose and fructose is close to 1:1,and the content of fructose is slightly higher than glucose mostly.The content of quinic acid in citrus were low respectively,less than lmg/g,but the content of quinic acid in kumquat reached 1.92 mg/g.Inositol content were no more than 3 mg/g,while,Fructus Aurantii reached 3.12 mg/g.2.Compared the content of sugar and acid of six varieties(Huanongbendizao,Nanfengmiju,Hamlin,Star Ruby,Cocktail,Red Marsh)in Wuhan and Chongqing,the content of sucrose in Wuhan was significantly higher than that of Chongqing,cocktail grapefruit showed no difference.Inositol content of Bendizao and Nanfengmiju in Wuhan was significantly higher than that of Chongqing,while,the content of inositol of Hamlin sweet orange and Red marsh grapefruit in Chongqing was significantly higher than that of Wuhan,the difference between Star ruby and Cocktail grapefruit was not significant.The content of glucose and fructose in Wuhan was significantly higher that in Chongqing,but was not significant of Naifengmiju.The citric acid content was not significant between Wuhan and Chongqing.3.Compared the sugar and acid content of juice sacs of Newhall navel orange ripe fruits from 11 production areas between 2011 and 2012.The content of citric acid and quinic acid in 2011 were significantly higher than that in 2012,the content of malic acid and inositol in 2012 were significantly higher than that in 2011,the content of three kinds of sugar were showed no difference between years.In 2011,the content of citric acid in Xiangxijishou was the highest,was 7.53 mg/g;the content of sucrose in Sichuan was the highest,was 71.36 mg/g.While,in 2012,the content of citric acid in Guizhoutianzhu was the highest,was 7.68 mg/g;the content of sucrose in Guizhouluodian was 71.18 mg/g,higher than other production areas.4.According to the content of sugar and acid content and bitterness substance content,partial correlation analysis showed that the content of naringin and malic acid was significantly negative correlation(r=-0.88,p<0.05);The content of limonin and citric acid was significantly negative correlation(r=-0.92,p<0.05),the content of limonin and quinic acid was significant positive correlation(r=0.94,p<0.05).Nomilin had no siginificant correlation between sugar and acid content.
