In this study, Liangyu 99 maize varieties was used as the test material,In the big trumpet period of the maize, Whole plant of Maize with spraying antitranspiration.The concentration of antitranspiration was 0.5 m L·L-1, 1.0 m L·L-1, 1.5 m L·L-1, 2.0 m L·L-1 four levels,Water treatment as control group. After spraying on days 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 the photosynthetic characteristics and physiological characteristics of maize indicators are measured, Conclusions are as follows:1. By the test of spraying antitranspiration on maize, The results indicated that antitranspirant increased photosynthesis, reduced stomatal opening status and transpiration rate, at the optimal concentration of 1.5 m L·L-1, After ninth days of spraying, the photosynthesis were significantly higher than contrast, The transpiration rate was significantly lower than that contrast, the stomatal opening status was significantly decreased compared with the control.2. The antitranspirant increase leaf water use efficiency,the water use efficiency to improve the fastest from3 to 5 days. Antitranspirant to improve water use efficiency in the first day was not significant. Spraying 3 days later, water use efficiency significantly increased compared with control group.3. It's obvious that antitranspirant increase soluble protein and soluble sugar content in maize leaves from the first day. And the effect of treatment ? is better than others.4.The antitranspirant reduced malondialdehyde(MDA) content and increased free proline content, the content of MDA decreased significantly with the increasing number of days, the free proline increased gradually with the increasing number of days. The content of free proline in treatment and? ? was significantly increased compared with the contrast. Other treatments were slightly improved.5.The antitranspirant significantly enhanced the superoxide dismutase(SOD), peroxidase(POD), catalase(CAT) activities, the activities of three defensive enzymes of SOD, POD and CAT in treatment ? was significantly increased compared with the contrast.6. The antitranspirant significantly enhanced SPAD content on the first day after spraying, relative water content of treatment?was slightly improved compared with the contrast. The other treatments were significantly higher than contrast in each determing.7. In the corn big trumpet period after spraying different concentrations of antitranspirant. The yield of each treatment improved to various degrees. Yield increased by ? > ? > ? > ? > CK, increase rate of between 2.6~4.9 percent. Although the yield was improved in different degree, it is not obvious at the different treatment. Therefore, in the corn big trumpet period after spraying antitranspirant. The antitranspirant has been effective in increasing maize yield. But the maize yield increase marginally.
