Soil animals are not only the important part of terrestrial ecosystem, but also an important part of forest ecosystem. They play a very important role in the system of material circulation and energy flow.It has certain response on the vegetation and environmental factors and also has important significance on soil physical and chemical properties, soil formation and development. In this study investigate the composition and structural characteristics of soil Collembolan communities in September 2013 among the Changbai natural perpendicular band, discussed the changes in response to the different Collembola species and the different environmental factors in habitats, reveal the elevation gradient changes and the correlation between tail insect communities compositions in changbai mountain natural perpendicular band forest environment,it provides the basis for changbai mountain forest ecosystem protection and management. We gathered 14545 Collembolas, which are 9 family-members,31 genera and 41 species. The Collembolan dominant species consist of Desoria?Folsomia and Protaphorura, where the number of Desoria is the largest and the most widely distributed. The results showed that differentelevations of dominant genus are almost the same, the difference is mainly manifested on the rare genus.Within the simple areas, the Desoria sp.1 and Protaphorura changbaiensis have a large quantity and widely distributed in the areas of the changbai mountain research. In different altitude simples, the contents of soil layer total nitrogen is roughly higher than the total nitrogen contents of litter layer. At the altitude of 800m?1400m?1550m and1700 m habitats the contents of soil layer organic carbon are significantly lower than the litter layer organic carbon contents, there are no significant in the rest altitude simple. The PCA two-dimensional sequencing graph of soil Collembola in different elevations showed that with the increase of elevation, the content of soil organic carbon and total nitrogen are reduced, soil layer Collembola community densities increases, litter layer Collembola community densities had no significant change.
