Potted plants of Ixora chinensis Lam.with the similary growth situation,vigoros,free from disease and insect damage,no or less flowering were tested in this experiment.Every plant was cut off half of the leaves,and leaving the rest with half of leaf,then fibrous roots were cut off,the taproots were cut left 1/3 to 1/2.Then these were used as material for study the effects of aquatic-root inducing with different media and with different concentrition of NAA using whole plant of I.chinensis.The results were shown as below.(1)Perlite,peat mould and sand were used the media for aquatic-root inducing with whole plant of after 60 days,the most medium was perlite,with the highest survival rate at 85.18%,next was peat mould,with survival rate at 77.80%,the worst medium was sand,with survival rate at 33.33%.Meanwhile,it was gotten most aquatic-root number with 13.75 per shoot by perlite,11.14 per shoot by peat mould,and 5.33 per shoot by sand.(2)It was promoted for aquatic-root inducing with whole plant by different conc.Of NAA,having the heist survival rate with 200 mg·L-1 of NAA,while the number of aquatic-root per shoot was increased with the increase of NAA concentration,having the best number with 150 mg L-1 of NAA,but having fierce declined with 200 mg L-1 of NAA.So,the best effect of aquatic-root inducing with whole plant was gotten by 50 mg·L-1 of NAA of I.chinensis The annual semi lignified branches taken from the plant having the uniform growth,similar height,and free from diseases and insect pests of I.chinensis,were cut off two-thirds leaves and left the top leaves,trimmed the base to a 45 degree angle with branch scissors.These shoots were used for aquatic-root inducing with different media and with different conc.Of NAA by cutting of I.chinensis,the results were shown as below.(1)Peat mould,fine sand,sphagnum moss and perlite were used the media for aquatic-root inducing by cutting after 45 days,the rooting rate was gotten at 3.33%,96.67%,63.33%,80.00% by peat mould,fine sand,sphagnum moss and perlite,respectively,and can increase at 33.33% by peat mould,93.33% by sphagnum moss,100% by perlite,while was kept by fine sand after 90 days.The effect of aquatic-root inducing by cutting was also evaluated with root shoot ratio in dry weight,it was gotten with root shoot ratio in dry weight at 6.17,at 19.13,at10.53,at 19.28 by peat mould,fine sand,sphagnum moss and perlite,respectively,the most root shoot ratio in dry weight were gotten by perlite and by fine sand,significantly higher than that of sphagnum moss and peat mould,the worst was gotten by peat mould.The comprehensive effect of aquatic-root inducing with different media can be ordered as below,perlite was more or less with fine sand,the next was sphagnum moss,and the worst was peat mould.(2)In 2015 yr,it was gotten with the best of vigorous root,the lowest of weak growth root,highest survival rate at 93.33% by 150 mg.L-1 of NAA,the difference was reached significant level than other concentration of NAA,and then the next was gotten by100 mg.L-1 of NAA.In 2016 yr,the root numbers per shoot,rooting rate and root shoot ratio in dry weight were as the evaluation index for aquatic-root inducing by cutting,the similar effect of aquatic-root inducing was gotten arrange from 125 mg.L-1 to 175 mg.L-1 of NAA,and was significantly better than other concentration groups of NAA.(3)There maybe two types of aquatic-root inducing by cutting of I.chinensis,one has flourishing calli but poor root,another one has less developed calli but flourishing root.
