In this study,effects of different rootstock on variable characteristics of the plant growth,yield,fruit quality,K ion and Na ion uptake and distribution,and photosynthesis in the same scion ‘Jiaxina 74-112' grafted on eight different rootstocks and the self-root grafting plants,under normol and salt stress conditions.Based on the fuzzy mathematics principle,agronomic traits and salt stress tolerance of grafted tomatoes with different rootstocks were comprehensively evaluated by the method of membership function,heatmap and hierarchical clustering,principal component analysis biplot and multiple linear regression analysis models,respectively,then identify the primary indicators of growth,yield and salt tolerance.The results were as follows:1.In normol condition,plant growth vigor and yield were significantly influenced by different stocks.In salt stress condition,plant growth and yield were significantly inhibited.However,fruit quality was significantly improved,by increasing the soluble solid,soluble sugar,soluble protein,and Vc.Using ‘Western tomato rootstock' under salt stress were decreased 32.3% and increased 37.7% separately comparing with auto-grafting of ‘Jiaxina 74-112' under control and salt stress conditions,and this grafting combination showed less effect on the fruit quality and the best comprehensive advantage.2.The indicators involving growth,yield and salt-tolerance ability were significantly influenced by grafting,based on the heatmap and hierarchical clustering,principal component analysis biplot and multiple linear regression analysis.Stem diameter and K+/Na+ were selected as key factors in regulating salt stress-tolerance ability and yield.And the comprehensive order of salt stress tolerance of all nine grafting treatments was calculated as follows: ‘Shenzhen'T7×Jiaxina 74-112,‘Wudi F1×Jiaxina 74-112',‘Qiangli×Jiaxina 74-112',‘Fanzhen No.1×Jiaxina 74-112',‘Alamu×Jiaxina 74-112',‘Western tomato rootstock×Jiaxina 74-112',‘Jiaxina 74-112×Jiaxina 74-112',‘Banzhen No.18×Jiaxina 74-112' and ‘GuozhenNo.1×Jiaxina 74-112'.3.Based on the comprehensive evaluation by multiple analysis,this study set up a new analytical method that can be used to identifying elite tomato rootstocks with higher salt tolerance.In addition,we analysis the direct and indirect indicators of both salt tolerance and yield that influenced by grafting and dependency relationship between them,preliminary.Importantly,the method that can be applied to salt tolerant rootstock selection and breeding was built by the principal component analysis biplot.
