Preliminary Research Of The Western Pacific Saury Fishing Technique

The Northwest Pacific Ocean is one of the world's most productive fishing area.Its fish catch has ranked top in the world for years.Especially sauries in the subtropical and temperate waters of the Northwest Pacific Ocean are upper middle class fishes with great potential.They are in large quantities in the ocean;It's fairly easy to fish them;They appeal to the palate of the public and can be used as excellent baits to fish tuna.Therefore,the saury fishery has been one of the thriving fishing industries with great economic benefits.At present,China is vigorously implementing development strategies like "the Silk Road Economic Belt and the 21st-Century Maritime Silk Road" and the "Going Global" agricultural policy,which will promote the further development of the distant-water fishing industry.After years of exploratory fishing research by scientific research institutions(colleges and universities),a complete set of scientific theories has taken shape and the preliminary application result has been achieved,such as the search of the central fishing ground,environment impact factors and the usage and improvement of the fishing method.In addition,the saury fishing ground is close to the coast of the Mainland of China and traditional fishing grounds in the North Pacific Ocean,which makes the saury reshipping,transportation and other logistics much easier.In short,the saury fishing project has great potential in development and utilization.In this paper,the author has detailed such aspects as the biological characteristics of fishery resources,the fishing net structure,the fishing process,the optimal tools for fishing lamps and marketing after researching and analyzing the production data acquired from the20-day saury research in the ship “Tianxiang” owned by the head office of Zhoushan Putuo Distant-Water Fishery Company in the international waters of the Northwest Pacific Ocean from October to November,2013,and drawn the following conclusion: The surface seawater temperature and the phase of the moon are key factors that influence the monthly saury yield;The saury length range is 100 mm to 360 mm.The excellent length group is280 mm to 300 mm.The gonad maturity is mainly in stage II and III,and the ingestion level is mainly at satiety 1,2 and 3;Red is the favorite color of sauries.Red fishing lamps canstimulate schools of fish to move actively.The suitable angle for fishing lamp boxes is50°to 60°;The better height of the net is 30-45 m.The most suitable mesh size range is18.9-25.76 mm.
