In order to study the effects of using of Zn and Si Fertilizer at different periods on yield,dry matter production characteristic,absorb characteristic of N,Zn and Si and quality of japonica rice with good eating quality.Two representative japonica rice cultivars with good eating quality,named Nanjing 2704 and Nanjing 9108,were adopted as materials to study the effect of Zn and Si fertilizer on yield and quality of rice.The treatments of the experiment were including applying Zn,Si and Zn plus Si at transplanting stage,productive tillering stage,the fourth and the second leaf age from the top respectively in 2015 and 2016 on the farm of Yangzhou university.The main results were as follows:1.compared with treatments of no Zn and Si fertilizer,Zn and Si fertilizer applying at differrent stages could all increase the yield of japonica rice with good eating quality.Among them,the yield of treatment using Zn fertilizer at the fourth leaf age from the top was the highest.And the yield of Nanjing 2704 were increased by 4.70%in 2015 and 7.82%in 2016,the yield of Nanjing 9108 were increased by 5.50%in 2015 and 5.39%in 2016.With different fertilizer application methods and time,the average yield of rice shown the trend of that,Zn fertilize>Si fertilize?Zn plus Si fertilizer.With Zn or Zn plus Si fertilizer,the rice will obtain the highest yield when the fertilizer were applied at the fourth leaf age from the top.While with Si fertilizer,the rice will obtain the highest yield when the fertilizer were applied at the productive tilling stage.2.The dry matter weight population at heading-maturity stage,drymatter accumulation at jointing-heading periods and heading-maturity periods of rice,medium and late stem sheath weight and leaf weight,valid leaf area rate,high leaf area rate photosynthetic potential heading-maturity periods of rice of treatment using Zn fertilizer at the fourth leaf age from the top were highest.The leaf area decay rate of using Zn fertilizer at the fourth leaf age from the top was lowest.The net assimilation rate was the highest at jointing-heading periods,it was seconder heading-maturity,it was thirst at seeding-heading periods.3.With Zn or Zn plus Si fertilizer,the nitrogen content and nitrogen uptake were highest when the fertilizer were applied at the fourth leaf age from the top.With application Zn fertilizerat heading-maturity,the average of nitrogen content:Zn fertilize>Si fertilize>Znplus Si fertilizer>CK,the average of nitrogen content of Nanjing 9108>the average of nitrogen content of Nanjing2704.nitrogen content and nitrogen accumulation amount followed the same trend as yield.With Zn or Zn plus Si fertilizer at maturity stages the Zn accumulation amount is the higherstat the fourth leaf age from the top,but with Si fertilizer at maturity stages the Zn accumulation amount is the higherstat at productive tillering stage.Hundreds of kilograms of grain Zn uptake performance rule and its performance is consistent.At jointing stage,heading stage or maturity stage the averageZn accumulation of using Zn fertilizer>the average Zn accumulation of using Zn plus Si fertilizer>CK>the average Zn accumulation of using Si fertilizer.The average hundreds of kilograms of grain Zn uptake performance rule and its performance is consistent.With Zn or Zn plus Si fertilizer the Si accumulation amount is the higherst at the fourth leaf age from the top.While with Si fertilizer the Si accumulation amount is the higherst at productive tillering stage.The hundred kilograms grain silicon uptake and its performance is consistent.at maturity stages the average Si accumulation of using Si fertilizer>the average Si accumulation of using Zn plus Si fertilizer>the average Si accumulation of using Zn fertilizer.4.Zn and Si fertilizers application at different stage could decrease brown rice rate and increase the milled rice rate and head rice rate of the milling quality.Meanwhile,the chalky grain rate and chalky degree were also decreased by using Zn and Si fertilizers.Among different treatments,the appearance quality of rice were greatly improved when applied Zn plus Si fertilizers at the second leaf age from the top.The changes of contents of protein and amylose were varied with treatments,while the gel consistency,taste,taste value were increased and the set back were decreased with the application of Zn and Si fertilizer,particularly with the application of Zn plus Si fertilizer at the second leaf age from the top.
