Development of remote sensing(RS),geographical information system(GIS)and global positioning system(GPS)has provided new methods for obtaining field grain yield information,which allows better description of spatial variability for grain yield.Monitoring grain yield has become an essential component in precision agriculture,which provides better guidance for grain growth and management.In order to further improving monitoring accuracy of grain combine harvester,a new real-time grain yield monitoring system based on photoelectric principle was developed in this study,a model of grain mass on scraper was established,In order to evaluate performance of the grain yield monitor system,both laboratory platform experiment and field dynamic experiment were conducted.The main research contents include:(1)Development on hardware of grain yield monitoring system based on photoelectric diffuse reflectance.The system was composed of sensor module,grain yield data acquisition module,GPS module and grain yield display terminal.The sensor module included diffuse reflectance grain volume senor and rotating speed sensor of elevator.Predicted model and diffuse reflectance grain yield monitor software embedded in the grain yield display terminal.(2)Design on software of grain yield monitoring system based on photoelectric diffuse reflectance.The software of the system had the functions of basic parameter setting,grain data collecting and processing,garin data real-time display and storage and remote communication,which could achieved grain yield information obtaine,display,storage and viewing,then grain yield information,elevator rotating speed,combine harvester speed,and longitude and latitude would be real-time displayed on the terminal.(3)Photoelectric conversion model of grain yield,Based on the optical principle of photoelectric diffuse reflection effect and grain kinematic principle,and the simulation experiment was carried out by discrete element simulation EDEM software,the approximation geometric model of grain was established.And a subsection type grain yield model was proposed.(4)Performance experiment of grain yield monitoring system.Based on the study of the hard ware,control software and photoelectric conversion model of grain yield of grain yield monitoring system,both laboratory platform experiment and field dynamic experiment were conducted.The result of platform experiment showed that elevator rotating speed sensor had maximum error of 1.87%.the standard deviation of 2.33r/min;diffuse reflectance grain volume sensor had maximum error of 3.14%,both of the accuracy and stability was good.Field yield experiment showed that grain yield monitoring system based on photoelectric principle was stable,the validation error of the grain yield monitor model was less than ±3.50%,and the system was optimized according to the problems existing in the experiment,which could satisfy rapid and accurate measurement of grain yield.
