Cherry tomato is an important vegetable because of its high nutrient,high yield,wide utility and popularity among the world,and thus it is widely grown around the world.However in recent years,Tomato yellow leaf curl virus outbreaks in the worldincluding many provinces in China,which causes huge losses in cherry tomato production.Breeding new varieties of disease-resistant tomato is a fundamental approach to prevent tomato yellow leaf curl virus.At present,the cherry tomato varieties resistant to tomato yellow leaf curl virus in GuangXi Provioce are rare and relevant breeding program has just begun.cherry tomatoes taste better than the tomatoes,and they have a higher nutritional value.Most consumers in China like to eat pink tomato.Breeding new varieties of cherry tomato resistant to tomato yellow leaf curl virus will fit people's diet habits,reduce vegetable production costs and increase economic income of producers.Therefore,breeding more and better new varieties resistant to tomato yellow leaf curl virus of cherry tomato is of huge importance.In this study,molecular marker-assisted selection(MAS),and traditional breeding is combined to select excellent cherry tomato lines resistant to tomato yellow leaf curl virus Then they were used as parents to hybrids with other elite inbred lines.The research work was carried out throughout three successive seasons for crosses comparison,in order to facilitate breeding of new cherry tomato varieties.The main results are as follows:There were 173 lines of high generation breeding material of cherry tomato.After field growing and traits investigations for 1-3 generations for anti-tomato yellow leaf curl virus by MAS,we screened a number of elite pink tomato lines resistant to tomato yellow leaf curl virus(including TWYbtb?TWYqx and TWY450),as well as some elite cherry tomato breeding lines without tomato yellow leaf curl virus resistance(e.g.TWY102?TWT222?TWY372?TWY458?TWY476?TWY584).Cross combination were set up using TYLCV-resistant lines as male parents and other elite lines as female parents by incomplete diallel.The corrsing combinations were evaluated in tenrms of fruit quality,yield,tomato yellow leaf curl virus-resistance and agronomic traits.We have obtained four crosses with good performance:HC14(TWY450×TWY222)providing material basis for breeding.Making the HC14 name Xida 1 and sending the seeds to GuangXi Tiandong,HaiNan Lingshui,Shandong Shouguang and NeiMenggu Chifeng for regional comparative experiment and molecular marker-assisted selection.Xida 1 have good resistance not only to tomato yellow leaf curl virus,but also to Tomato Fusarium wilt,Tomato root knot nematode disease and Tomato Leaf Mould.Xida 1 have a big value to promote all parts of the counntry.
