With the rapid development of industrial and agricultural production,the quality of environment decline.The extent of contamination of arsenic contamination of rivers,scope in our country shows a trend of further expansion and deterioration.It is proved that planted in fields with serious arsenic contamination is often the reason for the accumulation of much As in these grains.Rice,one of the main crop in China,whether it is safe or not is closely related to the safety of food and human beings,Ryegrass is a pasture characterized with high biomass,easy and rapid to grow,also it is capable to absorb arsenic to some level.Rice rotation ryegrass(Italian Ryegrass-Rice Rotation,IRR)has been found to contribute to increase rice production.Field experiments needed to be designed to verify whether IRR model can be applied to arsenic-contaminated rice fields.The experiment is to study the influence of Ryegrass and cutting ryegrass on rice yield,physiological indicators and the As content of community land and rice by planting paddy by districts.The experiments are Hunan Rice Cultivars(Oryza sative L.cv.C Liangyou 651)and annual ryegrass(Lolium multiflorum Lam.v.PRINE).Experiments show that Ryegrass can significantly reduce As levels in hulling rice and its'stems,while there is no significant difference on other parts.However the As content of the rice cobs,rice husks and leaves of winter fallow area is slightly higher than the other two treatments.But the As content of root is different,the arsenic content of cutting area is lower than the other two treatments.This shows ryegrass can reduce As levels in rice shoots,but not in roots.The influence of cutting ryegrass is small on As content of various parts in rice and physiological indexes of rice on both the non-cutting and cutting area.The As content of soil in cutting ryegrass time is higher than in ryegrass harvest period and rice harvest period.And during the three period,there is no significantly difference on the As content of soil among winter fallow,cutting area and non-cutting area.
