Rice is one of the biggest crop which planting area and output in the world and it is the staple food of half of the world's population.The rice yield is composed of panicles per unit area,the filled grains per panicle and the weight of 1000 filled grains,these three factors come into being in different growth period.Panicle number per unit area is composed by the number of main stem,tillering number per plant and percentage of available tille.Tiller number is an important agronomic trait,which influences the production of crops;and the plant hormones in tillering stage plays a key role in the process of tiller's occurrence and decay.Strigolactones(SLs)are terpenoid lactone,which were proved to be a new type of plant hormone to regulate plant architecture development.SLs and their derivatives are considered as a long distance signaling molecules to inhibit plant branching.It can be used to regulate plants branching in synthesis and metabolism of plant development.Such as in the growth period we inhibit invalid tillers of rice to shape the ideal plant type of high yield and good quality through artificial impose strigolactones analogue or promote the strigolactones biosynthesis.We transplant five rice cultivars of different tiller ability and keep a record of tiller number at the tillering stage.We research tillering and yield related growth parameters comparison of the five cultivars.We sample root and stem to measure endogenous strigolactones content of different tillering rice cultivars.The main results are as follows:1.There are significant differences of tillering number in different days after transplanting at active tillering stage of different kinds of rice.Tillering ability at active tillering stage of five cultivars:Wuyunjing27>Wuyunjing23>Jiayou6>R1128>E6.Plant height and tiller number is significantly negative correlation at mature period of five cultivars;Leaves fresh weight and dry weight are different in five cultivars and water content is also different;Spike number and spike weight are different in five cultivars.Jiayou6 and R1128 have moderate tiller number and higher yield per Mu.2.E6,R1128 and Jiayou6 have higher plant height,longer taproot length and smaller number of leaves relatively in hydroponic experiment.Fewer tillering number cultivars(E6,R1128 and Jiayou6)in total root length,root surface area,average diameter and root volume are higher than higher tillering number cultivars(Wuyunjing27 and Wuyunjing23).3.We sample root and stem of 7 days seedlings to measure endogenous strigolactones content of five cultivars in hydroponic experiment.Strigolactones content in the stem is different:Wuyunjing27>Wuyunjing23>Jiayou6>R1128>E6;strigolactones content in the root is also different:Wuyunjing23>Wuyunjing27>Jiayou6>R1128>E6.
