Calliptamus italicus L.is a major plague pest species in the aird and semi-desert grassland of Xinjiang,which has the capacity of distant migration and can cause severe damage to migration area.In this study we discussed the energy dynamic and ovarian development with migration of C.italicus.The results showed that test group sarcomere length is longer than control group.The test group myofibrils diameter is larger than control group.There is no significant difference between females,males,females and males of test group and control group in sarcomere length and diameter of myofibrils(P>0.05).The contents of mitochondrion of flight muscle in test group are significantly higher than control group(P<0.05).Meanwhile,the contents of mitochondrion in test group comparing with control group are significant difference(P<0.05).While there is no significant difference between females and males(P>0.05).As the day age grows,the accumulation of glycogen has the tendency to increase first and then decrease,females and males coming to the top at 7 dayold and 4 day-old respectively,they both dropping to the bottom at 10 day-old.The contains of glycogen in females and males have significantly difference at 4,7,13 day age(P<0.05).Females flying over 2.8 km consume the most glycogen,but males that fly between 2.1 km and 2.8 km consume the most glycogen.As the day age grows,there is a similarity between the tendency of glyceride and glycogen.The accumulation of glyceride in females and males is obviously higher than any other daily aging and reducing to the lowest at 13 days.The different daily aging in females and males have different contains of glyceride,but there is no significant difference between females and males(P>0.05).The females and males of C.italicus after flying over 2.8 km consume the most glyceride,which are 61.69 mg/g and 69.75 mg/g respectively.Females and males have the highest glycogen utilization efficiency at the distance over 2.8 km and 2.1-2.8 km,respectively.They have the highest glyceride utilization efficiency at the distance over 2.8 km.When C.italicus has the strongest flight capacity,the ovarian development is ? level.Which has the weakest flight capacity,the ovarian development is ? level.The results showedthat there is trade-off between C.italicus flying ability and ovarian development.
