Moso bamboo?Phyllostachys edulis?,an excellent bamboo species with economic value, social value and economic value. Its remarkable growth characteristic is paid more attention to by researchers.Besides,it has another characteristic called the growth inhibition process. To explore the mechanism involved in this process, the methods of biological, transcriptome and biochemistry were performed in this study. The principal results were as follows:?1?The growth law showed that the bamboo shoots which were in the suppression phase could recover growing when the fast-growing shoots cut after 20 hours.Later,Some appeared vigorous growing stage. While they would grow fast in 30 hours to inhibit the slow-growing shoots. The slow-growing shoots would then turn into suppression phase in 1 to 2 days.?2?Transcriptome analysis showed that a total of 12 128 differentially expressed genes were screened, including 6 164 up-regulated genes and 5 964 down-regulated genes. On the basis of functions, the differential genes were divided into 3 classed which involved in cell functional composition, metabolic process and organelle synthesis.Pathway functional annotation showed that a total of 925 differentially expressed genes participated in the 110 metabolic pathways. Most of them were carbohydrate metabolism, lipid metabolism and signal transduction pathways.?3?ELISA analysis showed that the IAA,GA3 and ZR concentrations increased simultaneously with the development of bamboo shoots after the rescission of growth inhibition, while ABA showed the opposite trend. In addition, the ratio about IAA/ABA,GA3/ABA,ZR/ABA also presented a single peak curve.?4?The concentrations of sucrose, glucose, reducing sugars presented a single peak curve, while trehalose showed a decreasing trend in the recovery state of bamboo shoots. As for starch,it showed a trend of declining firstly and then rising.
