Nowadays, aquaculture technology has risen in response to the increasing demand for aquatic products.Utilizing fish cages for aquaculture can not only increase economical efficiency, but also effectively prevent pollution. However, due to complexity of marine environment,it is a key problem how to guarantee safety in aquatic production utilizing fish cages. Therefore research on hydrodynamic performance of fish cages is demanded.Based on above-mentioned problems, using the method of combining tests with numerical simulation, the research on key hydrodynamic parameters of a fish cage, such as drag coefficient C_D,as well as research on structural dynamic response of flat netting and holistic netting in water flow is conducted. This paper includes the following aspects:1.Introduction of research progress both at home and abroad;Summary of research on hydrodynamic performance of fish cages conducted by scholars.2.Design of small-scale test equipments and test scheme for research on netting hydrodynamic performance based on Test Procedures of Wave Model, which realizes the research method that utilizes small-scale water tanks.3.Introduction and deduction of Morison equation;Introduction of test-obtained drag-coefficient empirical formula put forward by scholars abroad.4.Determination of drag coefficient of flat netting and holistic netting in water flow with different flow speed, screen size and balance weight using test method;Verification of drag coefficient by comparison with test-obtained drag-coefficient empirical formula put forward by scholars abroad.5.Drag determination of flat netting and holistic netting under different conditions utilizing numerical simulation software ABAQUS,based on test-obtained drag-coefficient;Comparison of simulation-obtained netting deformation with test-obtained netting deformation in order for verification of test results.
