The weevil pests are important pests in agricultural and forestry production and grain storage,which always cause huge economic losses.At present,the main control method is chemical control with serious pollution,and there is lacking of effective natural enemies to prevent and control at the same time.The use of physical control measures is a major measure in the control of weevil pests.Based on the entangling principle of fishing gillnet and in connection with the biological commonality of weevil pests,this study has designed a type of weevil pests net trap.This study conducts applied research on three weevil pests,Eucryptorrhynchus brandti,E.chinensis and Alcidodes juglans.By comparing the influence of three factors which are different suspension heights,different mesh sizes,and whether to increase the tape,on the net traps catching effect,the optimal application method was selected.The results of the study are as follows: 1 The design of net trapThe net trap consists of two parts: the shrink rope and the stick network.During use,make the shrink rope running through the stick network,fold down the shrink rope and secure it to the base of the trunk to form two capture chambers.It is based on the characteristics of weevil pests up and down the tree for feeding,mating,spawning,overwintering and summering.By using forces acting in different directions,the feet of the adult weevil pest and the net trap are entangled with each other when escaping,and the weevil pests are entangled in the net trap for capturing.2 The application of net trapBy setting different suspension heights,it is shown that the catching effect of the two species of weevil pests is best when they are 60 cm from the ground,and it is significantly different from 100 cm and 140 cm.By setting different mesh sizes,it is shown that the catching effect of 0.5cm times 0.5cm is better than 0.8cm times 0.8cm.The increase of tape can enhance the capture effect of the two weevil pests.According to the dynamic analysis in the annual capture amount of E.brandti,E.chinensis in Tai'an city,Shandong Province,and A.juglans in Zunyi city,Guizhou province,the capture peaks of E.brandti and E.chinensis are “Bimodal”s,which of A.juglans is “Three-peak Type”.The peaks of the catch numbers of the three species of weevil pests are all consistent with the feathering period or the peak of emergence period.In summary,in view of the three kinds of weevil pests that are currently serious and difficult to control in China,based on the commonality of damage from upping and downing the tree,and the entangling principle of fishing gillnet,the net trap has been designed,at the same time related tests has been carried out.These show that when using the net trap to control three kinds of weevil pests,with a 0.5 cm times 0.5 cm mesh size,a 60 cm suspension height,and additional tape,the capture effect is best.The design and application of the net trap can provide basis and reference for the prevention and control of other weevil forest pests.
