Through the understanding of debris flow activities and forest vertical differentiation, this paper takes the upper reaches of the Min River as the research object, combines field surveys and remote sensing interpretation methods, and uses FCM algorithm and typical correlation analysis model with the support of software such as Arc GIS and MATLAB.The qualitative and quantitative analysis of the response relationship between debris flow activity and forest vegetation differentiation has been made. The main progresses as follows:(1)Through summarizing the historical activities, disasters and distribution characteristics of debris flow in the upper reaches of Min River,11 evaluation indexes were selected in this paper, and the debris flow ditches in the upper reaches of Min River were classified by cluster using FCM algorithm based on MATLAB.The results of subordinate classification were combined with the development stages of debris flow, vulnerability and risk, and the status quot of debris flow in the upper reaches of Min River was objectively grasped.(2)The vertical differentiation laws of climate, soil and vegetation were summarized.Seven environmental factors including precipitation, solar radiation, aspect, slope and soil were selected to investigate their correlation with vertical differentiation of forest vegetation.Based on the Arc GIS software using multivariate band set statistics,it is found that there is a high correlation between accumulated temperature, slope, soil, precipitation and vertical variation of forest vegetation.(3)Based on the classification of debris flow and vertical differentiation of forest vegetation, the paper qualitatively analyzes the relationship between the change of forest vegetation on debris flow activity and the relationship between debris flow activity type and forest vegetation type,The vertical distribution of debris flow activity and forest vegetation has the same distribution of temperature, soil, elevation and slope. The distribution of debris flow ditch is mainly in coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest,sub-alpine,Most of the debris flow ditch activities distributed in the three belts are classified into 5 types and 4 types, with low susceptibility and strong partiality in juvenile development.(4)In order to better reflect the response of debris flow activities to the vertical differentiation of forest vegetation, the correlation analysis of complex global nonlinear problems was carried out by means of canonical correlation analysis model. The results showed that the highest correlation between them was 0.427,although less than 0.5 overall weakness, but still significant. Finally, based on the response of debris flow activity to the vertical differentiation of forest vegetation in the upper reaches of Min River, the paper puts forward some suggestions on the management of debris flow.
