In the simulation of plants,the combination of artificial life morphology model and constraint model is an important topic.So far,there are two main directions for plant simulation.One is to focus on the external appearance of the plant.The final simulated plant has a realistic shape,but it does not have the life characteristics of the plant.Second,it focuses on the process of plant growth.The growth process pays more attention to considering the characteristics of artificial life of plants from the perspective of botany.Therefore,how to use a better modeling method to combine the morphological model and the growth constraint model,so that the final simulation results not only have realistic effects on the appearance,but also have the characteristics of artificial life,which is the focus of this study.This article first studied the basic modeling methods of plants,the functionstructure model construction methods of plants and other domestic and foreign literature,and studied the basic theories and methods related to the modeling of the trunk and branch of poplar.Secondly,the paper expounds how to describe the growth process of the trunk and branch of poplar trees using a combination of improved twoscale automaton and L-system.In addition,according to the growth characteristics of poplar,the appropriate growth function was selected and the parameter L-system was used to control the growth of poplar branches at different growth stages,so that the simulation results were more in line with the actual situation.In order to make the drawn figure more three-dimensional,the interpretation of the tortoise figure in the Lsystem was extended from two-dimensional to three-dimensional,so that a threedimensional shape model of the trunk and branch of poplar was obtained.In the modeling process,this paper also optimizes the random growing branch angle and spatial direction.Thirdly,using the method of artificial life modeling,the effects of light factors on the growth of poplar branches and trunks were considered from the angle of branches bending and the number of branches in different growth periods.Finally,combining the morphological model and the constrained model,the model of the trunk and branch growth of poplar with artificial life characteristics was constructed.
