Evaluation Of Clinical Efficacy Of Two Kinds Of Whitening Toothpaste

Objective: With the improvement of living standards,people have become increasingly strong demand for brighter and white teeth.In recent years,the oral care products manufacturing enterprises are also aware of the strong demand for consumers of whitening teeth,developed a lot of different whitening toothpaste.The purpose was to evaluate the efficacy and durability of two kinds of whitening toothpaste(ShuKe,ZhongHua magic and fast white toothpaste)in tooth whitening,and to evaluate whether they have side effects.Methods: Finally,the data were processed statistically(SPSS17.0).Subjects of60 people were divided into ShuKe and Zhong Hua group according to the tooth color,gender and age,and divided into three groups,namely 1,2,3 groups.1groups use one month whitening toothpaste,two months ordinary toothpaste;2groups use two months whitening toothpaste,one months ordinary toothpaste;3groups using three months whitening toothpaste.And monthly examine the baseline of the color(a*,b*,L*)using VITA Easyshade compact and inquire about the diet,brushing and whether there is no adverse reaction etc.And inform the subjects who need to stop the use of whitening toothpaste the termination of the use of whitening toothpaste,and use the ordinary toothpaste with no whitening ingredients.The study data were statistically analyzed(SPSS17.0).Results:(1)The accuracy and repeatability of the test results show that the data has high repeatability,reliable measurement results.(2)All the subjects used ShuKe,ZhongHua whitening toothpaste had no adverse reaction,but there are5 subjects have endure glossodynia at the beginning of using ShuKe toothpaste.(3)The tooth whiteness(b*)and brightness(L*)have increased significantly using ShuKe white toothpaste,and three months later than a month,ΔE value of the body and incisal of tooth increased after using Shu Ke toothpaste.(4)The whiteness(b*)and brightness(L*)of the ZhongHua toothpaste have increased significantly,and after use the Zhong Hua toothpaste three months later than a month,ΔE value of the body and incisal increased.(5)After third months,ΔE value increased significantly in ShuKe toothpaste than ZhongHua toothpaste.(6)Discontinued whitening toothpaste one month later,ΔE values have a significant decline in the trend.Discontinued toothpaste two months later,except ShuKe cervical ΔE value=2.796>2.75 that still has whitening effect,the tooth ΔE values of ZhongHua and incisal,body of ShuKe were all <2.75,that have no visible whitening effect.Conclusion:(1)The result of VITA Easyshade compact is accurate and the data is highly reproducible.(2)After using whitening toothpaste,the lightness of maxillary anterior tooth is increased,yellow are shallowed,and with the extension of the use of time,the whitening effect increases.(3)ShuKe has a better whitening effect than ZhongHua toothpaste.(4)After stopping use whitening toothpaste a month,the whitening effect is significantly reduced;after two months have no visible whitening effect except ShuKe cervical.
