ObjectiveTo compare the knowledge, health beliefs and health behavior status related to Reproductive Tract Infections(RTIs)among women of reproductive age with RTIs between urban and non-urban areas of Shiyan City and then to analyze their influencing factors of the three among those women, and finally to analyze the relationship among the three,so as to explore the nursing intervention strategies on the knowledge, health beliefs and health behaviors related to RTIs for those women with RTIs.MethodsA questionnaire survey was conducted among a convenience sample of 701 women of reproductive age with RTIs about the knowledge, health beliefs, health behaviors related to RTIs from July to August in 2015 in Shiyan City, using the ??ąS,t test, analysis of variance,Pearson correlation and multiple linear regression analysis for descriptive analysis and inferential statistics.Results(1)The average scores of total knowledge related to RTIs and the knowledge on the symptoms of RTIs did not statistically differ between women of reproductive age in urban and non-urban areas of Shiyan City(P>0.05),while the average score of RTIs infection pathways among women of reproductive age in urban was statistically higher than that of the patients in non-urban areas(P<0.05).The average score of total health beliefs related to RTIs did not statistically differ between women of reproductive age in urban and non-urban areas of Shiyan City(P>0.05),while the average scores of perception of susceptibility and severity of RTIs and perceived benefits of action among urban patients were statistically higher than those of patients in non-urban areas(P<0.05).However,the average score of perceived barriers of action among women of reproductive age with RTIs in non-urban area was statistically higher than that of patients in urban areas(P<0.05).The average scores of the total health behaviors and their two dimensions among women of reproductive age with RTIs in urban were statistically higher than those of patients in non-urban areas(P<0.001).(2)In urban area of Shiyan City women of reproductive age with RTIs who had a history of RTIs statistically showd a higher average score of overall knowledge related to RTIs compared with those patients having no history of RTIs(P<0.05),while in non-urban area women of reproductive age with RTIs who had the junior high school level and above, who had poor to general income satisfaction or who had a family history of reproductive tract tumours statistically showed higher average scores of overall knowledge related to RTIs than those who completed only junior high school, who had average to high income satisfaction or who had no family history of reproductive tract tumour(P<0.05).In urban area women of reproductive age with RTIs in different marital status statistically showed different average scores of overall health beliefs related to RTIs(P<0.05),while in non-urban areas women of reproductive age with the RTIs who had poor to general income satisfaction statistically showed a higher average score of overall health beliefs than those patients who had average to high income satisfaction(P<0.05).In urban area women of reproductive age with RTIs who were at different ages or in different marital status,or who whether having a history of RTIs or a family history of reproductive tract tumors statistically showed different average scores of overall health behaviors related to RTIs(P<0.05),while in non-urban area women of reproductive age with the RTIs who had agricultural or medical insurance statistically showed a higher score than patients paying all the costs(P<0.05).(3)Correlation analysis showed that among women of reproductive age with RTIs disease in urban and non-urban area, the total scores of knowledge related to RTIs were positively correlated with the total scores of health behaviors(P<0.05),but the total scores of health beliefs related to RTIs were not significantly correlated with the total scores of knowledge or health behavior(P>0.05),and only some dimensions of health beliefs related to RTIs were correlated with the total scores of knowledge and health behavior related to RTIs(P<0.05).(4)Multiple linear regression analysis showed that in urban area of Shiyan City RTIs infection pathways knowledge among women of reproductive age with RTIs(Beta=0.444,P<0.001)had a significant positive effect on the health behavior while perceived barriers of action(Beta=0.389,P<0.001)had a significant negative prediction effect on health behavior. In non-urban area RTIs infection pathways(Beta=0.350,P<0.05)and perceived benefits of action(Beta =0.374,P<0.05)among women of reproductive age with RTIs had significant positive prediction effects on the health behavior while perceived barriers of action(Beta=0.374,P<0.05)had a significant negative prediction effect on the health behavior.Conclusion(1)Many levels of knowledge, health beliefs and health behaviors related RTIs among women of reproductive age with such diseases in urban areas of Shiyan city was higher than those among non-urban women of reproductive age with RTIs,except that there was no difference in knowledge of RTIs symptoms.(2)Factors influencing knowledge, health beliefs and health behaviors related to RTIs among women of reproductive age in urban patients were mainly related to patients' marital status and RTIs experience, while those in patients in non-urban areas were mainly related to patients' economic status and educational levels.(3)The knowledge of RTIs among women of reproductive age with such diseases should be internalized into health belief, and the key to adopting healthy behavior is to set up correct health belief.(4)Nursing intervention on the knowledge, health beliefs and health behaviors related to RTIs should be conducted among women of reproductive age with RTIs in Shiyan City from community and clinical aspects.
