| With improvement of the Chinese ballroom achievement and increase of the athletic intensity for ballroom athletes in recent years, combined with overburdened training and unscientific method, the number of sports injured athletes in China is on the rise. However, due to indifference and confusion of most athletes to the concept and treatment method of injury, the risk of sports injury has been aggravated with negative impact on the practice efficiency and results of competitions for athletes. This paper aims at providing certain reference data to help athletes and coaches with better knowledge of rules and prevention of ballroom training and teaching, so as to minimize the possibility of sports injury for ballroom athletes.Taking the several athletes from Beijing International Ballroom College and sports dances department of Xi’an Physical Education University, and 20 coaches and some athletes from sports dances department of Anhui Art School as the objects, this paper through questionnaire makes the comprehensive and systematic analysis and study on the survey results of sports injury for ballroom athletes by the methods of documents, investigation, mathematical statistics and logic, and draws a conclusion as follows,1. The incidence rates of sports injury in different dances for Chinese ballroom athlete are respectively 66.3% for Waltz, 40.4% for Tango, 12.5% for Viennese Waltz, 10.6% for Foxtrot and 19.2% for Galop, of which the highest is Waltz and the lowest is Foxtrot.2. The main injured parts for ballroom athletes are lower back(40.4%), knee joints(38.5%),ankles(26%),toes(26%),shoulders(21.2%), consistent with the characteristics of ballroom sports.3. The main ballroom sports injury is chronic injury and then the acute injury. For acute injury, the highest incidence of is among those athletes with 3-4 training years, accounting for 74.3%, while the lowest is 26.7% among those with more than 7 training years; however, the incidence of chronic injury is significantly and positively correlated with the training years, so the highest is among those with over 7 years, accounting for 93.3%, and the lowest is 57.1% among those with 1-2 years.4. There are differences of injured parts among various kinds of ballroom, which is related to each dance style and technical feature.Site influence(e.g. the unsatisfactory floor), overburden of local motion, incorrect and unskilled movement, improper training schedule(blind practice), mismatch of dancing partner, and inappropriate costumes and dancing shoes are the major factors led to the injury for Chinese ballroom athletes. |
