Objective Research and analysis the clinical therapeutic effect of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization combined with radiofrequency ablation for primary large hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods 64 patients with primary large hepatocellular carcinoma were collected in department of hepatobiliary surgery of Jining First People's Hospital from May 2013 to May 2015. Depending on the therapeutic treatment methods, the people with primary large hepatocellular carcinoma were divided into two groups: control group and observation group. In the control group(TACE group), there were 30 patients with 18 men and 12 woman.Their average age was 56.5±7.51 years. Average tumor diameter was 7.00±1.89 cm. 9 patients were in A grade and 21 patients were B grade according to the preoperative liver function. The result of AFP indicated 22 positive and 8 negative. While in the observation group, there were 30 patients with 19 man and 11 woman.Their average age was 53.4±10.50 years. Average tumor diameter was 7.23±2.66 cm. 8 patients were in A grade and 22 patients were B grade according to the preoperative liver function. The result of AFP indicated 21 positive and 9 negative.Patients in the control group were treated by simple treatment of the TACE(conducted 2 times or more according to the progress of the tumor and the body condition),while patients in another group were treated by TACE combined with percutaneous RFA(conducted RFA 3 weeks after TACE).And finally analysis the clinical therapeutic effect of two groups. Results Age, gender, liver function classification and tumor diameter before treatment were similar in two groups(P > 0.05).Through their respective treatment,AFP and tumor diameter in observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, the total effective rate and the negative conversion ratio of AFP in observation group were significantly higher than that in the control group. And the occurrence of adverse reaction in the observation group was less than that in the control group.Within two years, the patients mortality of the observation group was significantly less than control group, with significant difference(P < 0.05).Conclusion TACE and RFA are minimally invasive treatments, with the advantage of small trauma, less pain.Through this study, in the non-surgical treatment, the method of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization in combination with radiofrequency ablation for patients with primary large hepatocellular carcinoma, can effectively reduce the incidence of side effects and reduce patient's mortality rate. The curative effect of the combination therapy is significant.
