In recent years, the rapid development of online games industry, to bring people to stimulate and enjoy the spirit. However, the influence of internal negative and harm also becomes more and more obvious. More and more people are beginning to become addicted to online games, and even suffer from Internet gaming disorder(IGD). IGD identified in the fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders(DSM-V) Section III as a condition warranting more clinical research. Teenagers as the main network game players, because of IGD eventually lead to physical decline, truancy, weariness, dropping out, even onto the illegal crime reports emerge in an endless stream, causing the spiri t di sease schol ars, ps yc ho logi sts and educat ors att enti on.Previous IGD-related studies had revealed structural abnormalities in the prefrontal cortex, an important part of prefrontal-striatal circuits, which play critical roles in cognitive control. However, little is known about the relationship between the striatal nuclei(caudate, putamen, and nucleus accumbens) volumes and cognitive control deficit in individuals with IGD. The volume differences of the striatum were assessed by measuring subcortical volume in Freesurfer. Meanwhile, the Stroop task was used to detect cognitive control deficits. Correlation analysis was used to investigate the relationship between striatal volumes and performance in the Stroop task as well as severity in IGD. Relative to controls, the IGD committed more incongruent condition response errors during the Stroop task and showed increased volumes of dorsal striatum(caudate) and ventral striatum(nucleus accumbens). In addition, caudate volume was correlated with Stroop task performance and nucleus accumbens(NAc) volume was associated with the internet addiction test(IAT) score in the IGD group. The increased volumes of the right caudate and NAc and their association with behavioral characteristics(i.e., cognitive control and severity) in IGD were detected in the present study. Our findings suggest that the striatum may be implicated in the underlying pathophysiology of IGD.Second, although there have been imaging studies of the cortical thickness of patients with IGD. However, the current analysis of the cortical network is not clear. So the second part of this paper is to study the IGD patients by graph theory analysis, including clustering coefficient, the shortest path, and so on. The results showed that all of the IGD group and normal control group have small world properties. But the topological structure of the network in IGD is a little change(the clustering coefficient is significantly reduced). The difference of the network property shows that the structure of the network is abnormal. However, the decrease of the concentration factor of the IGD also reflects the decrease of the local efficiency of the IGD. In addition, a comparison of the values and the values of the brain regions reveals the abnormalities of some regions of the brain. Many nodes in these regions are the important nodes in the addiction related network(default network) and the loop(reward circuit, motivation loop, cognitive control loop, learning loop).Overall, this paper reveals that the abnormal behavior and cognitive function of brain image structure in the patients with internet addiction disorder, and provide help for the diagnosis and treatment of Internet addiction.
